Any deals on van or standard SUV rentals?

We'd prefer a mini-van, but I don't know if it's worth the extra $100 listed typically for a 9 day rental from Tampa. I believe the best rate I've been able to work out is $353 for a mini-van with the ST SUV (grand cherokee) about $50 less. Budget and Thrifty are pretty close with their disc. codes.

Anyone know if it would be worth the time or hassle to rent twice using different coupons? For example they might list a sale of $199 for mini van or suv for a week, but then it's $51/day for each extra day above 7. I don't know if you lose all savings by initial costs. We fly into Tampa, drive to WDW the next night, then fly out of Tampa at the end of the week. thanks

I have split car reservations before, but I'm not sure if it will work for you because of the number of days you are renting. An 8-9 day rental is probably the worst to work with because of the extra daily rate that you mentioned. A "weekly rate" in rental car speak is 5-7 days and a weekend rental is 2-4 days with a Saturday night stay and usually a return no later than Monday. You *might* be able to split your reservation into a 2-day "weekend" and a 7-day "week", but I'm not sure if you will really save much by doing that.
