DD wants this for Christmas and, if memory serves, I think Toysrus has done deals sometime in the fall on both the dollhouse and the furniture sets. Does anyone know if they will run that again this year? TIA:)

For the past few years they have always done a B1G1 sale in October. Last year they didn't include the dollhouse in the deal - just the rooms and dolls.

We bought the dollhouse last year on sale. It was in the fall because she got it for christmas. It was a large set with furniture. Then we bought extra furniture and people with B1G1. Good luck.:wizard:

Thanks. I'd love a deal on the dollhouse but B1G1 on the small stuff would be a big help.

In the past they have had the b1g1 free sale in October and again in April or early May (I used it for dd's birthday May 8th). My dd got a loving family house and stable when she was 3 and still plays with one now at 10 so it has been a great investment for us. Of course dd6 plays with her and they now each have their own house.

Clori, I'm glad to hear that it's still a good investment for an older girl. DD is almost 8yo and I was afraid she might be a little old for it. She was initially asking for the Barbie Townhouse but I've read really bad reviews about the quality of that one. Plus I just don't like the thing. I don't consider myself a prude at all - but are disco balls and hot tubs really appropriate role play props for 2nd graders? I finally figured out tho that the big draw was all the furniture and accessories. So we looked at other dollhouses and she really liked the looks of the Loving Family. It looks much more age-appropriate and all the reviews I've read indicate that it's very sturdy. Now if I can just catch a good sale.:thumbsup2

Make sure to check Craigslist too. Often you can find a nearly new set there for great prices!

DD got hers when she was 4ish maybe 5? She'll be 8 soon and still plays with it regularly. I was lucky enough to find an older house on craigslist for $20 this summer, it needed some elbow grease but cleaned up beautifully and now she has 2 different homes for her families. Those B1G1 sales can be dangerous when stocking up on the accessories. :rolleyes1

If you have an Ollie's nearby, sometimes they carry the sets for next to nothing. My DMIL bought the house one Christmas and then found all the sets a girl could ever need at Ollie's for very cheap.

I'd love to know when these go on sale, too. Dd has some she uses with her traditional doll house and they work well. But the dog just loves the Loving Families. I've had to throw out more poor amputee, headless, and otherwise mangled dolls... We are down to one or two intact figures.

My mom bought it for my daughter last fall for christmas as well..she also got all the rooms at toys r us for the b1g1 free....we wrapped them all individually and tied them together in a huge tower of gifts....that was a very exciting moment for my daughter christmas morning :) and im hoping for the b1g1 free sale again because we "NEED" the tent and minivan still...

I am pretty sure when I bought it on sale 2 years ago it was early November, got the full house on sale then added some rooms with the BOGO deal. They also had it on sale Black Friday that year, but I did better with the regular sale and a coupon.

Do you have a farm and fleet, or fleet farm by you? We bought DD hers there a few years back when they had the opening of toy land (I believe they open toyland next weekend around here). Anyway, I found they were like $30 cheaper than any sale I saw anywhere else, even TRU. They didn't have a ton of sets to go along with it, but they did have a few and they were also quite a bit cheaper than any sale I had seen.

I found the furniture sets on clearance at walmart at the end of summer. Now I am looking for a deal on the house. The house was 69.00 at Walmart a couple of months ago but now that it is closer to Christmas they want almost 75.00 for the same house. Kmart also had it earlier this week for around 70.00 as did Target. Fisher Price online has the Christmas house that is changeable for everyday with all the furniture for 200.00.

I got one for dd4 about a month ago at TRU on sale for $59. I also got some of the B1G1 furniture.
