Any deals for Canada residents?

Hey folks!
Wondering if any Disboarders from the Great White North can help me out. We just moved to Edmonton for DH's job, and while we love the city, we are super bummed that traveling to Disney has become so much harder!

I know that UK residents often get special rates and discounts that aren't available to folks in the US, but do Canadians ever get any special offers? Any tips on getting a good deal?

Any tips on airfare would also be helpful! We are used to being able to fly to DLR for about $500 for our family, and WDW for around $1,200, so the airfare alone is making our next trips look quite expensive. Any tips would be much appreciated!

Can't wait to sample all this Alberta beef and see if Le Cellier lives up to Canadian cuisine! Thanks in advance for all the help!

Not really - we typically don't get any real special deals. Certainly not like they do in the UK. We get the same offers that the U.S. does. As for airfare - well flying out of Canada is crazy. We usually fly out of Seattle since we are a ferry ride away. For a family of 4 we save about $1600 by not flying off of the island. Flying out of Vancouver is still slightly more expensive than Seattle. I know you're not close to the border being in Edmonton, but if you can fly out of the U.S. you'll save quite a bit of money. Of course, you'll have to break out the calculator to see if driving and a hotel will beat flying out of Edmonton once you factor in the exchange rate.
