Anyone have any creative ways to give gift cards? Several people ask for them (mainly teens) and it seems to impersonal to just hand them the cards. Any ideas?
I like to hide them in smaller gifts. A deck of cards (fun ones) is a good hiding spot. Or in a book or CD. My cousins now know not to take a small gift at face value .
You can find a smaller gift that relates to the card to go with it. For example, tape a movie card to a box of popcorn and wrap it up. Put a Starbucks card in a clean Starbucks cup or a mug and wrap it. You can also buy gift-card holders. I saw some at CVS yesterday that are stuffed animals holding a pouch to put a gift card. My mom puts gift cards in small boxes and wraps them so we have something to open.
I usually do something like the pp who does a small, themed gift. For example, Blockbuster sells buckets of microwave popcorn. I buy these and put a movie gift card and boxes of candy, etc.
I usually wrap them in deceiving packages like putting a gift card in a large box with books, etc. to add weight (for my own kids). They have cute holders you can buy for them as well. You could buy a wallet and stuff the card slots with the various gift cards.
