Any CMs here? Interesting claim made by someone on a non-Disney message board .....

I remember a bus driver at WDW telling us that he was allowed to bring his wife and another couple in whenever he wanted. This was a few years ago, but we were just chatting, and he was telling me about what he liked about his job.

Maingate and Silver passes do exist.

Not all CMs can let 3 people in per day for free, mostly managers have this perk. For most FT CMs there are limits as to how many people, how often and time of year.

BUT you just can't walk up to a random CM and say 'here's $20 bucks get my family in for free' well I guess you COULD but I doubt many would take you up on the offer considering the passes are connected to their name and their employment and I'm sure abuses would be flagged.

When I was in college my professor's son worked at EPCOT. He got me and my parents in for free the day we were there. :thumbsup2 This has been about 6 years ago.

I'm not registered on that board but I'll respond here. :) I am DL Attractions CM.

EVERY CM receives one Main Gate pass per year, which allows for the sign-in of up to 3 guests OR your dependents into the DL resort up to 16 times per year. Upon sign-in they receive a 1 day park hopper (good for both DL and DCA.) DL CMs can also use their Main Gate pass to sign themselves and guests into WDW, DLP, and Hong Kong Disneyland with varying restrictions. There are several block-out dates for the Main Gate pass.

DL CMs of course can sign just themselves into the park on almost every day of the year.

And higher level people do receive different passes - such as the Silver Pass - but I am not sure as to the specifics on those.

Silver same as above, but unlimited on number of days.... (vs. 16) to sign in 3

as far as the comment about not being able to slip a cm $20 to get your family in, it does happen but my retired cm fil said that eventually those cm's usually get caught and lose their job, some bold cms even approach guests to offer the service.

having retired after the 15 year mark, he has the gate pass for life, it does come in handy when we visit. fortunately his step daughter is a cm since there are now 4 of us plus he and his wife to get in, his pass allows for 4 plus him anytime.

Never been a CM but years ago (94?) a CM got me, DBF at the time and his DD into Epcot for free. She walked us up to the turnstile, ran her ID through, walked us in, chatted for a few minutes and then left. She was a friend of a friend. I know she had about 20 years in at the time and was in management. I think she had been around from the beginning of WDW. Not sure of her level though or if any of her perks had been grandfathered. :confused3
