Hi all-
We are going to Universal for practically the first time next month (we were there over 10 years ago and barely remember it). However, we go to Disney about once a year. Our favorite part are character sightings. Are there any characters at Universal (and if so, who?)? I make an autograph book for my girls and need to know if I should include any Universal characters. Thanks!

We were there a couple weeks ago (:sad1: - I want to go back!) for the first time and were delighted with the character experiences. They really were easier to "meet and greet" at Universal that WDW. We met Curious George and "the man" (can't remember his name!), Scooby and Shaggy, Alex and the penguins from Madagascar, Shrek and Donkey (hysterical, BTW!), the Simpsons, Cat in the Hat, lots of Whos (because they were all over Seussland), another Seuss character I didn't know, Spider Man (DS5 said it was the best day of his life!), Captain America, and I think it was one of the X-men but I'm not sure. There were other ones we could have easily met but chose not to - Dora, Diego, Woody Woodpeckers.

Loved the superheroes at Marvel Island. Captain America walked by DS5 and high-fived him - it was great. And when they leave, Spider Man drives off on his special Spidey 4-wheeler. It's pretty neat, and when he drove off he paused, looked at DS5, and pointed at him. DS was in heaven.

When we went, there weren't a lot of people, and some of the characters spent a long time talking to us. Spider Man was familiar with where we live and talked about a restaurant he was familiar with up here, and Donkey sang and sang and sang for/about DS7 who was too shy to go over and stand with them for a picture. In true Donkey spirit, he said he wasn't going to stop singing a song all about Ben until Ben went over and stood with him - then he went on and on singing about "Ben from NY" and pizza and waffles. It was perfect.

Thanks so much!

xApril -After looking at that site though, I really wish we were going to have time to make it over to Universal Studios, not just IOA. Seems like all the characters we would love to see will be over there.

Tfoster - Sounds like it was a great experience! Thanks for sharing! I wasn't really sure what to expect.
