Any chance of do a walk up at a TS restaurant in MK?

We have walked up to the Plaza Restaurant many times without an ADR. I know the Plaza's menu is limited. However, their burgers and sandwiches are very good!

MK has only five TS restaurants, so your odds are not as good as they would be at Epcot or DHS, especially not during free dining. There are some overflow buffet/family style options at the Diamond Horseshoe and the Tomorrowland Terrace, you could also try those. Also consider restaurants in the monorail resorts.

I noticed the OP is going in December, but it doesn't say WHEN in December. Christmas week, walk up, traditional meal times might be nearly impossible. On the other hand, the 2nd or 3rd week, non-traditional mealtimes, being open to less popular restaurants, maybe.

Also...Free Dining was extended into December.So that adds a variable as well

We're finding a lot, and I mean a lot of people are making three or four ADRs for every meal just to cover wherever they may be when that mealtime comes. That accounts for two or three no-shows per meal for a lot of people.


Free dining and some other plans have definitly affected most of Disney dining in a significantly negative way.

I wish there was some way Disney could stop people from doing that. I'm pretty certain that was what was happening this past weekend when I couldn't get a reservation *anywhere* a month or more out and then suddenly on the day of there are numerous openings AND the restaurant itself was half empty with plenty of walk-ups easily getting in.

any chance of walking into a TS restaurant and hoping for a table at MK without an ADR? There is NOTHING avail right now for TS.

We've had good luck with The Plaza restaurant. One time, we showed up at the Crystal Palace, and they told us flat out that we needed an ADR. HOWEVER while I was outside with DW discussing what our next move will be ( she did not want fast food ), the hostess came out and asked us if we wanted to eat tonight and got us a table

For lunch your chances are better. We ate at LTT on Sept 8 (mid free dining) walked right in at noon. In fact CMs were out front on the sidewalk trying to get guests into the restaurant.

When DH and I went in March we were able to do a walk up at Tony's with little to no wait and no problem at all. We had called earlier and there was NO availability. While at MK we asked at the podium if there was any openings for dinner. We were told to come back at 4pm thats when they opened for dinner and when they did walk ups. Well at 4pm we walked in gave our name and in less then 10 minutes we were seated.

I know we saw about 10 families do walk ups at Rose and Crown at opening for lunch while waiting for our table. Narcossee's even took a walk up while we were waiting for our table and it was later at night and prime fireworks viewing time. So I think anything is possible!

BUT when we went in Dec for Christmas we saw a lot of walk ups turned away so I think it has a lot to do with the time of year you go. But then we had ADRs and always waited a minimum of 20-30 mins for our table.

we were there last week and had little to no wait for chefs de france, brown derby and liberty tree tavern at lunch time...
for dinner though, there was at least an hour wait for the restuarants at dhs...
friday night though, i swore we had adr's for tony's but it turns out they had been for thursday night (ugh! i was so upset i screwed it up!) they told us 45- 1hr wait, but we actually got in in about half an hour

Since you're going dec 3-7, I'd say that the chances for walk ups would be better on Monday and Tues. But over the weekend, I think your chances would be slim to none.

You can always put your name in and hope there are cancellations. So don't give up hope if the places you want to go are booked up.

Keep checking. We have been able to get LTT for lunch a few different trips.
