Any chance of decent fast passes less than 30 days out?

I may be visiting Disney World the week of August 28th but would be booking tomorrow. Will I be shut out of all the good fast passes? I can't access the inventory without linked tickets. I'm not sure how good the trip will be if I'm shut out of our must-dos. (My 7 year old hates waiting - who doesn't?) Thanks!

It depends on the crowds the season you're going. We took a trip two weeks ago, and were able to get FPs for Frozen Ever After at 28 days. But this July had unusually low crowds.

On August 28th, for a party of 4, every ride is available except Frozen Ever After at Epcot, 7DMT and FOF Parade at MK.

Everything else is available except for rehabs (BTMRR, IASW and Dinosaur)

also get creative with FP you do not have to have the same time just over lapping times so you might find you can do 7DMT at 12 to 1 for 2 people then 12;30 tp 1;30 for the other 2 and then you can all ride between 12:30 and 1

Thank you so much! That is encouraging.

Good advice! Thank you!

We are in Disney now and although we made all our fast passes at our 60 days out window we have changed things up once we got here a few times. Other than 7 dwarves and Frozen we have been able to get fastpasses for everything even the day before. We have also had days at MK with 8 fastpasses. Making your 4th once with your phone has made a huge difference over waiting forever at the kiosks!

My strategy would normally be to get early fast passes so I can add on later in the day. I'm guessing the earlier ones are most likely gone though by now, right?

I'm traveling with a first-timer and was hoping to somehow get 7DMT but it seems to be unlikely. Oh well.

Full story - I had this whole trip planned with 7DMT, FEA and Soarin (separate days obviously) plus all the ADRS I wanted inclung an 'Ohana reservation at 6pm on a Saturday night and a BoG dinner. I'm one of those OCD planners who agonized about every part of the trip, especially fast passes and ADRS. But my husband'a health took a turn and he was supposed to be on chemo during the trip so we canceled. We just found out (after the 30-day mark) that his treatment is delayed until the second week in September so now we want to rebook (for the exact same dates actually) as we don't know when we will have another chance to go. I'm just being a brat because I know I'm not going to have my "perfect plans." I also really want this to be a good trip as I don't know if coming back is in our future.

Thanks for all your advice. I think I need to let go my OCD and just hope for the best!

I'm like you....big planner so I get the disappointment that you are having to let go of that "perfect trip". I'd be very upset also! However....this may be the stars reminding you what is really important and that is being with friends and family in a pretty magical place! I just checked... Plenty of fast passes for most rides available and I have had great luck finding those hard to get ADRs the day or night before....always people moving stuff around. So look at it as an adventure of planning on the go vs 180 days out!! Wishing your family all the best!!

You have to realize that for every one of us uber planners, there are 3 people who don't have a clue. I was in Orlando this weekend, relaxing by the pool about 10pm. A lady was in the pool with her kids talking to another woman. Her plan was to go to MK the next day "around 4". She had never been, didn't know about FP, and hadn't even looked at a map or a list of attractions to get an idea of what she hoped to accomplish.

We made a last-minute trip last October (10 day notice). One day at MK followed by MNSSHP. I had two newbies with me so I felt the pressure to give them a good experience. We did SDMT at RD. Walked on. I had FP for all 5 of us together on POC and then split the party based on who would ride coasters for BTMRR and JC. We also had pre booked FPs for PP, though not all together and I had to check daily in those 10 days to finally nail them down. Well, once in the park, we were able to book SDFPs all day. Never waited more than 15 minutes. Most of the time we'd get to the ride with a FP and if the wait was less than 15, we'd go SB and I'd swap the FP while we walked the queue. We rode everything we wanted to ride by 3pm. I'd saved COP, HOP, and the river boat for that evening when my in-laws (the newbies) would be tired and DH, DD, and I would need to change for the party. But they felt like they'd done everything and left :confused3!

Anyway, moral of story is I am an über planner and hated the idea of a last minute, less than perfect trip. It turned out to be one of the best MK days ever! Go, love life, and have a wonderful trip!

I was able to get all the FP+s I wanted but FEA! Whoo hoo! Thanks everyone!

Don't give up on FEA if you really want to go. Plans change all the time, so it's just a matter of being in the right screen at the right time to pick them up. Glad your plans are coming together for you!
