Any car rental deals in October?

Any help with any deals for car rental in October would be greatly appreciated.

[shrug] I assume you've already looked at the list of publicly available codes on sites like mousesavers. Beyond that, just keep checking - this is way early to see any real deals on October rentals.

For peace of mind, go ahead and book a car now on the best rate you can find. Then about once a week check again to see of you can get a better rate. You may find that as you get closer to October (perhaps in August) the rates will change - hopefully downward.

I really haven't seen anything spectacular yet. I have reserved a full size with a free upgrade to premium for around $375 with Budget (Costco membership discount & coupon). That is high but we really like the bigger premium vehicles and those are running over $700 without a discount right now. I think last June I got a premium for around $275 for 11 days. My current reservation is for 10 days (10/14-10/23).

Presently, I check a couple of times a week but as the months start to get closer I monitor each day, sometimes several times a day. Prices can yo yo even daily. I keep a close eye on the Transportation board too as DISers are great to post when they've found a great deal that we can all take advantage of.

We are going 10/22 to 10/28. Best I have been able to find is a full size for $224 using costco id and coupon. Hope they come down as it gets closer.

Best thing I have found is to join Alamo's Insider program. They send e-mail specials weekly. It usually is at the end of the month that they send the discount code for the following month.

I had a full-size in January for 8 days for $197 with tax. Same car for less time in August is $325 now. I am waiting for the code myself. It should arrive the last week of July or so.

Alamo is great if you use their Insider program. You just go out to the garage and pick out the car you want.

That is good to know! I thought it was only National that had the "pick your own car" thing, and was therefore bummed that my National rate was considerably higher than my Alamo rate. (Not that either rate is very good at this point.)

I do not know what size car you need but I used these codes and booked a minivan thru Budget for $298 for a week in June. BCD X474200(public travelocity code) and coupon code mugz029 ($30 dollars off at time of return). GO to budget, vechicle types, hi occupancny, minivan. Type in your parameters and your good to go. Hope this helps.
