I'm trying everything on the April forum but it seems like they are all getting amazing deals but I try the same thing and do not. I assume this is because I'm using Canadian websites? Can I use the american version of car rental websites (for example go to the Dollar american website?). Anyone have any codes which are good for Canadians? I need an SUV from April 1-8.

To clarify which city?

fyi.... that weekend is a 4-day long weekend and high travel period for Canadians. Demand will be high.

Booked a full size $217. All taxes in with carrentalsavers.com. Muse them for almost all of our carrentals.

Thanks for the advice on carrentalsavers - I now have 446 total (USD) for an SUV for a week - that's 50 dollars less than what I had booked. Was with Dollar, now I'm with Budget. Maybe I'll keep trying that website each day.

I got some decent deals with Alamo and budget. We are doing one way rentals though not sure if that impacts the price.

Do some research as far as discount codes i.e Costco, CAA, company you or your spouse work for, even frequent flyer programs that have a no cost sign up can be very beneficial, then after you've found the best rate using the discount look for a current coupon to apply on top of the discount , like 25$ off a weekly rental, etc. We got a mid size car on the emerald aisle (which means we could end up with a larger vehicle) with National for 150$ plus tax for a sunday to sunday rental. :) Good Luck !

We use carrental savers and have found the best rates there.

I book through costco canada and have been getting some really competitive pricing lately.
