Are there any buffets not character meals? Only thing I can think of is Askerhaus. My DD, who will be 4 when we go is terrified of characters, but buffets would be nice since DD 2 1/2 when we go will not be on the dining plan and we may have to order her a lot of meals and pay out of pocket.

Boma's at AKL, Biergarten in Germany, Trails End @ Fort Wilderness, Ohana's @ Polynesian isn't a buffet but it's a family style all you can eat.

Tusker House - Lunch and Dinner are non-character.

Captain's Grille breakfast used to have a buffet last I knew. What was nice was that in the same party, some people could choose to get the buffet, while others chose to eat off the menu.

Is Aksershus no longer the Princess Storybook meal?

Cape May at the beach club is a character meal for breakfast, but not for dinner (I don't think it's open for lunch).

Boma at AKL, Tusker House at AK, Cape May dinner at BC, Biergarten at Epcot... Those are the only non-character buffets I can think of. Also, look for places like Ohana that serve the food family-style, because the under-3s are still free at those.

They've already been mentioned but my two favorites WDW restaurants are non-character buffets: Boma and Tusker House.

Biergarten is a great buffet. Who doesn't love an oompah band??

(alright, watch for it...the oompah band haters will be here soon!! ;) )

One that hasn't been mentioned is Hollywood & Vine in the Studios at dinner. At breakfast and lunch it is a character meal with the playhouse Disney characters, but at dinner there are no characters. We've only done it for lunch, and it seems to get bad reviews here, but, honestly, we found it to be no different than any of the other buffets.
