We are surprising our DS-DD twins for their 10th birthday with a trip to Disney. We have been to Disney several times, but never for their birthday. I would like any info on extra-magical birthday surprises, activities, etc. that are offered by the resorts, parks, and restaurants.

PS The search function is disabled, and I have poured over MULTIPLE Disney books, and have had no luck.

You could get them the birthday hats or pins and whenever CMs at the park saw them they would know it was their birthday and say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!".

I know I remember some people talking about arranging special surprises/scavenger hunts through an outside company (I think their name is Gifts of a Lifetime). That might be something your children will enjoy. BTW my boy/girl twins will be 4 in April.

I was just thinking that maybe you might want to consider a special birthday lunch for one twin and then a special birthday dinner for the other twin. That way they each will get all the attention they deserve as the special kids they are. Guess it depends on your budget and locations (parks etc.) Like maybe even a special breakfast at say mk at crystal palace with winnie the pooh and the gang and then dinner at the GF. (Can't remember what characters are there right now. Good luck planning and I know they will enjoy their special day. Make sure to make priority seatings as soon as possible.

We arrive on our twin dds 10th birthday - March 27. We've got reservations that night at Chef Mickey's. If you tell them you're celebrating a birthday they get the birthday pin, placemat, and a cupcake complete with candle brought to the table by a character. Last year Minnie brought it, the prior year it was Chip and Dale.

The birthday button got them "extra" surprises at the parks. The attendant for FP at Splash Mountain gave us additional FP's to go a second time, one CM made a call so you get birthday wishes on the phone, and almost all the characters who speak, Princess, Peter Pan, etc. made a HUGE deal out of it.

You can pick up the Bithday Buttons at City Hall at MK. I understand that all the parks now offer the Birthday Buttons at their customer relations buidlings.

When my DD turned 12 she had surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon, her hair cut at the barber shop in MK, her face painted in Mickey's Toon Town & a late lunch at the Prime Time Cafe in MGM. By the time we arrived the restaurant was nearing empty & my DD received extra special attention from 2 servers. They decorated her hair with papercovered straws (she loved this). For dessert they gave her a huge cupcake with a candle in it & sang to her.

We've also visited DL on her 11th birthday & had a great time there too.

But when she was 9 we visited WDW & the CMs made a bigger deal about of her birthday at this age: wishing her happy birthday, giving her a free chocoloate covered banana, & a card with balloons in our room when we returned at night.

There is also a birthday cruise to watch Illuminations in Epcot. Very nice, but expensive.

Just make sure you tell everyone it's their birthday. I bet they'll receive extra special attention because they're twins.

Have a great time!

THANKS for the tips!

Do they make special Disney birthday hats? If so, where can I get them? Can I get them ( and the birthday buttons ) before we leave home?

26 days and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

The birthday button you have to pick up while your in the park. WDW may offer some kind of birthday hat you could purchase at one of their hat stores. They don't give these away.

Seems to me that they have a hat shaped like a birthday cake with candles. Don't know how thrilled your kids would be to wear them though.

Someone mentioned it already but I think a fireworks cruise would really be something they would remember for a long time. It would be as if the fireworks were going off just for them.
