Any benifit of paying off Disney Cruise with Disney Visa?

Hopefully one of you will know the answer to this. I'm a Disney Visa holder and am planning to pay off the balance of the cruise with said Visa. Can I pay it off online or do I have to call DCL or do I have to call the Walt Disney World Vacations Company in order to get the 6 months 0% financing? I forget who I spoke to when I asked this question (either Visa itself or DCL) and they said I have to pay through the Walt Disney World Vacations Company but this just didn't seem right. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Did you already book the cruise with the Disney Visa? If so, you shouldn't have to do much; you should see where the 6 month interest deferred deposit is on each one of your statements. Then, when your PIF date comes up, you just go on your online DCL reservation page and pay it in full so that you can check in on line and choose your PAT and any excursions, activities, etc. That payment in full also gets the 6 month deferred interest as well. You could do it over the phone if you want; I just like to do it on line. The 6 month deferred interest is automatic; you don't have to do anything (but deduct that amount from your bill until it comes due). Let me know if this is not what you are asking.

I believe it's automatic. I paid the deposit with the Disney Visa and I've noticed on my statements that it categorizes the deposit amount in a no interest category.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was asking. The deposit was made last year on the Disney Visa but I paid it off right away. I pay my bill in full every month so I generally don't take notice of when I get the 6 months 0%. I'll definitely do it online the day after my current billing cycle ends the end of this month. Thank you!

Assuming you booked directly with DCL (and not TA) you can make the payment online through your reservation on the DCL website. If you used a TA, the TA will have to do it for you. I've never had a problem with Chase's system recognizing payments and automatically giving the 0% for 6 mos.

Enjoy your cruise!

I pay my entire bill of every month as well... except not the 6-month deferred DCL deposits. I like to take the 6 months until they're due. All you have to do is subtract it from your new purchase balance (will be in a separate table at the end of your bill under Qualified Promotions). I could see how some people wouldn't want to wait 6 months, but we like to take advantage of it! Happy Cruising!

I do the same thing. It gives me a chance to make sure we'll be able to make the cruise before it actually costs me anything. I usually book a cruise day 1 every time new itineraries come out so I lock in the first day pricing. Then I've got a few months to decide if we're really going to do it or not.

That's my plan in about 3 days from now!

(6 mos out, not new itinerary )

I feel like this has been asked but maybe not in this precise scenario -
If you initially book the cruise by putting deposit on your Disney Visa, then open a DVA (Disney Vacation Account) to fund the balance, pay part of the cruise cost with a Disney gift card, then pay the balance with your DVA, do you still get the on board benefits?

Don't know if this makes any difference, but the DVA was funded with the Disney Visa.

I'm not sure which on board benefits you are referring to, but you only need the Disney Visa on your shipboard account designated as default form of payment to get the Disney Visa perks that I know of (listed above ). Not sure if it does, but hope that answers your question!

That whole list of benefits such as merchandise discounts, spa discounts, etc. I thought you had to pay for the cruise with the Disney Visa to get them, so it's just simply covering your on board account with your Disney Visa and you get that? Does everyone in your room get the same benefits or just the cardholder?

The perks are for using the Disney Visa on board, not for paying off the cruise. The other people would have to be in your stateroom with charging privileges, as I understand it. It will be indicated on your KTTW card.
