Everyone keep warm and stay safe, I left Baltimore (Lansdowne) 5 years ago for Florida and I can tell you that I don't miss that kind of mess. Thinking sunny thoughts for you guys.

DH and I have both lived here all of our lives- both of us grew up aroung Pigtown- and really want to move further South- preferably Florida!! Just leaving all of the family and all seems like alot. None of them go further than Ocean City for vacation- so they would NEVER come visit.

DH just got home from the Eastern shore. He was involved in an accident on Rt 50 on the eastern side of the Bay Bridge. Not his fault. No one hurt, thank God! He said the roads are bad and there are accidents everywhere.

Thank goodness he is OK. Had a friend on the Eastern Shore w/ son wrestling team. She pulled over several times to try and relax. Of course, she is from Africa, so defiantly not used to snow.

Good luck- you know everybody will call out- any excuse especially for a weekend day!!

They better not-LOL. Actually no one is allowed to call out during a snow event. Several employees fired the week of Christmas, for calling out during that storm...the fun of healthcare.

DH and I had lived there all our lives too, but after he retired from BCPD we decided to head south for warmer weather...the fact that my in-laws would never come visit was just a bonus

My thoughts exactly! He spent 3 years in Alaska, so he swears he's immune to the cold. No thank you.. I'm all wrapped up in my blanket in the nice warm computer room, lol.

Harford County here - looks like at least 6 inches from what I can tell. Seems like a plow went thru my development overnight so that is good. This snow sure took me by surprise. Yest. I was out with my DD when the snow started and 30 mts. later it took me 40 mts. to get from Bel Air to Abingdon (should have taken maybe 10). My van was swerving - I was so scared. I'm glad that at least it happened over the weekend. Hoping that school will still be on for tomorrow.

I hope they go to school also- or don't go at all. The 2 hour delay thing messes us up- with work and all. I have a babysitter for all day- just have issues figuring out what to do with the 2 hour delay thing.

I'm in Southern Md and my unofficial (stuck a ruler in a flat pile) measurement is 8 inches. We were originally in the 3-6" count so I guess not terribly far off, but friends just 15 miles south have 11 inches.

I'll be SHOCKED if there is school tomorrow. These jokers are the absolute slowest plowers in the world and (since there are no sidewalks) if the roads aren't plowed, then the kids have nowhere to stand and wait for buses. I bet it'll be at least Tuesday and then we might have two-hr delay!

Oh--2 hour delays screw us up also! I've actually let them skip the day before, if no one could take them late. Neither ride the bus in the AM 1- can't take her cello on the bus, and the other goes in 1/2 hour before the actual start time. DH usually ends up going to work early...then taking a very early and very long lunch. PITA
