Any bakers out there? I have a few questions

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I do have great family and friends and tell them how thankful I am for their help. I saw my family for Easter yesterday, and they were asking again to be able to help. My Dniece25 especially wants the baking job, so Im sure I will put her on that with a few others. Thanks for the help, receipes and positive words!

I found out a secret for whipcream. Add in about 1 Tbsp of instant pudding (vanilla) when whipping and it will stop it from seperating in the fridge.

Great tip about the instant pudding to stabilize whipped cream. I'll have to try it this weekend.

Since you've got family and friends pitching in with the preparations, I urge you to make sure their contributions are recognized. They're a gift to the couple, so please mention them in the thank you cards.

For my niece's wedding, we assigned out most of the shopping, telling folks how much we had in the budget for each item. We nicely let them know that if they had to/wanted to exceed that amount, we'd love to consider it as their wedding present to the couple. We set up a small sign on the gift table acknowledging the donors' gifts - both of time and money (eg, church flowers - Mrs. A; table decorations MS. B; reception tableware - Mr. C)

Guests told us that they liked giving money towards a specific item for the wedding or reception, rather than a check for "whatever". Since the couple both had their own apartments, they had plenty of household items, so didn't need many traditional wedding gifts.

They will be getting more than just a thank you...we are giving everyone that helps a gift card along with their thank you card:goodvibes
