Any annual passholders who travel on 30 day notice frustrated with the lack of passholder rates? It seems that everything I've seen is a package deal with room and park admission.

Perhaps we all should write to Disney ;)

I too am frustrated :(. And I've written Disney!

We just decided to take a trip at the end of January but the only good rates are thru AAA...and they are pretty decent rates so I can't complain too much. But I *KNOW* AP rates would be better. When I spoke with CRO she said they have received a lot of complaints and that the best bet is to write Disney.

:) Good Luck!

I think this was done quite a bit when the program started and didn't seem to make have an effect.

Absolutely. I will be cutting back this year.

Writing would get your opinion out there but it may not help. WDW is getting much more business now than in past years and they don't need to offer last minute discounts to passholders when there are enough people willing to drop more cash on packages.

Given our careers, it's hard for us to book well in advance. So, I am not a fan of BRP. And, the lack of AP discounts is quickly making me and my DH Swan/Dolphin fans. We stayed there for quick trip over Thanksgiving. I called 6 weeks in advance, to the day. I asked if there were any AP discounts for 11/23-11/27 and I was given a rate of $169.00. Then, a few weeks later I saw a code on Allearsnet.com and this was for a rate of $139. I had no problem calling the Dolphin and applying the code. $139 for such a wonderful resort was MAJOR PIXIE DUST in my humble opinion.

We want to go back the end of May, and I'm dreading this BRP game. I might end up back at the Swan or Dolphin.

Luckily we live in Florida, so we've been calling and using the Fl res rates. I did make a resie for Jan on passholder site. It is a pain and you don't get a mailed confirmation. It took me several tries to do it right. I'd rather speak to a person.

Another frustrated APer here. I have my first BR booked in April but I'd love to squeeze in a trip for the EE preview weekend. don't get me wrong, the $200 for WL andAKL (rack) is okay, but same time last year I got YC for $197 AP. :(

Another advantage of becoming a DVC member! :cool1:
We book the cheap airfare, then book our "free" room at a DVC resort!
We'll be at the EE preview as DVC'ers and AP holders!!!!!!

Include my family!! Most of our WDW trips in the past have been spur-of-the moment.

THATS IT

Supply and demand.....why discount rooms....for frequent visitors or first timers alike when you are selling out rooms with traditional marketting plans.

The AP discount was originally set up to just fill empty rooms to try and generate some revenue rather than waste the space. Those rooms are generally full now, so no need to discount.

Unless you run out of points like we did LOL! Do I smell an add-on???? :earboy2:

I just think that what will happen is that less people will buy APs....I am pretty sure that for a lot of folks the discounted room rates were a BIG incentive. And with that came multiple trips to WDW when they may now, without the AP and all the discounts that went with it, just choose to visit less frequently?! I doubt it will impact Disney at all....but some of their loyal visitors might be there a bit less frequently.

Just a thought?! :confused3

I just checked a 10-day hopper with no expiration vs. renewing my AP. It's cheaper to renew my AP. So, I guess I'll stay an AP holder. Just wish they'd hurry up and post late April rates on BRP - I bet discounts won't be as good this year.

Disney has never been this slow in releasing end of April beginning of May dates. I think something is up! Everytime I look the screen still says 4/13/06 for BRP. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:
