Anything else - flying with two pre teens & DH. We have reserved a window & an aisle in two rows. If someone takes the middle seat, we wil offer them our aisle seat. The boys get the windows.

Do they typically honor passengers prior seat selections?

If your flight number, time or equipment doesn't change, then yes, generally you'll keep your pre-assigned seats. If anything changes, then all bets are off, you may not have seat assignments, or could be scattered about the plane. Just keep checking your reservation online at least weekly, you'll be able to see there if there have been any changes. If there have been, you may be able to re-select seats online. If you can't make changes online, then call customer service and they may be able to move you around.

always keep checking your flight times, AA likes to change the time 15 mins here 15 mins there. If AA does change your flight time and if the time doesnt work out for you, you can call AA and tell them the time change doesnt work and to find you another time on the same day, either an earlier flight or later, you will not be charged a change fee.

AA starts boarding first class first, then AA advantage members, then the back of the plane ending with the front of the plane.

AA plane are always full and will take standbys, AA sometimes overbooks their flights. We just flew home from las vegas and AA needed 5 people to be willing to be bumped for $300 voucher per person and put on the next flight out(red eye). I would have done it if we could have flown out the next morning. I would have called DB to pick us up and stayed at his house. Ddad said no. (party pooper).

AA will announce to the passagers that only first class(20people) can use the front bathroom and the rest of the plane can only use the back bathrooms. It
stinks when you are in the first 5 to 15 rows to walk all the way to the back of the plane

AA does not hand out snacks anymore not even peanuts or pretzels, take snacks with you.

other then a few minor things, we fly AA all the time and havent had a major complaint yet.

Not necessarily true. Airlines don't have to allow you to change flights at no charge if the times change, although most do it as a courtesy when possible. But generally the change has to be somewhere in the vicinity of two+ hours from the original flight before they'll even consider it.
