i AM TRAVELING WITH AN 8 YEAR OLD AND A FIVE YEAR OLD HAS ANYONE BEEN TO THE STUDIO SIDE AND THE IMAGINATION ISLAND SIDE PRO AND CONS JAMBOREESS:earsboy: :earsgirl:

I think it really depends on what type of rides your family likes. We went to the studios but not to IOA. We aren't real big into the thrill rides. At least, once in each trip is enough. I like the movie themed rides a lot more. Also, there were a lot of characters at the studios. We saw Shrek, the Rugrats, Spongbob, and Scooby Doo to name a few. I think more of the superhero's are at IOA.

Hi,

I would definitely go the IOA side. I think that the Studio side is a little boring for a kid that young. There's alot of movie stuff on the studio side and its just not as fun and colorful as IOA with Suess Landing, Jurassic Park, etc.

Have a great time, I just got back and now I'm sad that its all gone.

Oh well, time to plan another one!

Both Parks are fun and I don't think
you can go wrong with either choice
for the little guys.

I agree, there's lots of fun places for the peanuts in both parks although some rides may be very intense.

Go by your nose...

I was there last week with my 8 and 5 year olds. We went both US and IoA, and everyone liked both. To list out the "very best favorites" for the kids:
DS-8 --- MIB [did twice] (US), Jurassic Park ride (IoA), Camp Jurassic (IoA), Dooms (IoA), BTTF (US).
DD-5 --- Pteranodon [did three times] (IoA), ET (US), Camp Jurassic (IoA), Ghost Busters show [danced and sang along] (US).

I think you will have fun either one you choose. Ideally, you want to spend at least two days and do both, though.

With kids I would lean (slightly) toward studios. But I think they would enjoy both parks.

By the way, I think most of the roller coasters have a 40" height restriction.

I think that Spiderman and BTTF have a 40" restriction and MIB and the Barge raft ride 42". The big coasters have a higher height restriction, but not sure exactly what (I just know that my 3 older kids are tall enough to do them, but my 9yo has no interest).
