Hi does anyone have any tips for wedding planning overseas, we are in the UK. We hope to be marreid 27/8/2009 in the Pavillion bu are unsure of what to do for a reception, we though either a reception for 40 in the Grand Floridian, a dessert party and fireworks then a meal somewhere else or GF reception and desert party, anyone any ideas? We dont have a hugh budget, also we have 40 guests.

What are the chances of us getting our dersired date?

I' a UK bride as well so congrats.

We spoke to a consultant about 18 months out and we contracted at 12 months but certain locations you can only contract at 8 months. We had no problem with our date and its 2nd sept 08

Congratulations, I'm a UK bride too.

I spoke to Disney just before our year mark as we was going to book with virgin but changed our mind and are booking with Disney direct. Because of your guest count I think you are looking at a custom/wishes wedding booked direct with Disney.

We have our date and locations held at the moment and we will soon be at the eight month mark to contract in and send our deposit off.

We are also getting married at the Pavilion and are then having a reception meal at the White Hall Room in the Grand Floridan and then a dessert party at Epcot.

As our wedding is on a Wednesday we had no trouble getting our date and time, we were the only ones wanting them. We did have to change our dessert party location choice as we wanted UK lower but that was booked by a convention.

Congratulations!
Just joining in the fun here, another UK bride-to-be, also planning already for 2009 - they say it's never to early to plan! :)

We were married at the GF pavilion November 4, 2004. We had our reception at the Living Seas VIP Lounge. All I have to say is that it was AWESOME. Wouldn't do it any differently. We also had about the same number as you (38)...a perfect number I believe for this location. And it has built in entertainment...An huge salt water aquarium! There are 8 foot windows that surround the room. We even had subba divers dance with us on the dance floor...made great pictures. A great place if you want contemporary setting and not so stuffy. Also being at this location, we were also able to have a dessert party showing Illuminations. It was such a great memory to have the entire crowd that are ready to view Illuminations move out of the way for you and your guests. Everyone was clapping and congratulating us.....never felt so happy. Such great memories we'll always remember!

Where did you watch Illuminations from? Did you still have to book one of the countries or did you get it included in the price being at the LSS? (I think I'm reading what you said wrong!)

We had our wedding on December 5th at the Yacht Club Gazebo. We had our reception at the Marvin Gardens room and patio in the Boardwalk and then had a dessert party at the UK Lower terrace!

I loved every bit of my wedding and wouldnt change any of the locations for anything! Everyone really enjoyed the day and are stil talking about it!
