As far as I know, new members were getting the credit as well. The cruise seems to be the only place to get a "better" deal. They seemed to have
DVC presentations each day on our 3 day cruise and there was a desk right outside Shutters (where the photos are) that was manned most of the time. The two guides who were on our cruise were very nice and friendly, not pushy at all. Don't forget, that you have time once you are home to look everything over. We did an add on in
Disneyland this summer and when we came home we realized we weren't getting points until next summer. We called our guide before we sent back the papers and we just waited a week or so for some 2008 points to become available and then sent in the new paperwork.
I dont' know if there is anything "extra" for a member referral, but I'd be happy to give you my info if you need a referral or if you have any questions at all.
Have a wonderful cruise and don't forget to rebook onboard! We rebooked 2 cruises---one for 2009 and one for 2010. We may need to change the dates around but I wanted to be sure we had the 10% off and $100 - $200 onboard credit! We can always change the dates later and keep the discount.
