I was just wondering if there are any DVC members that have been able to book a visit to DLP for 2008 yet? I've been calling MS pretty much weekly since late August, and last I checked (several weeks ago) they still did not have 2008 points charts for DLP. I'm travelling for work now, and am wondering if I should get my DH to call MS. Would love to hear if anyone has had any luck with this, particularly as these bookings will incur a fee starting in December. Thanks!

Just bumping this for you. Have you tried asking on the DVC board?

Yes Wintergreen the points charts are out for 2008 and you can now make reservations. Unfortuately, you are in for a shock. Although points needed per night are signifcantly reduced this year, the reservation does not now include your park passes :sad1: Also, if you book with points you now are obliged to purchase length of stay passes for all of your party whether you want them or not!!!! I was planning on purchasing AP's but was told that I cannot book on points without purchasing the length of stay passes. This is a really bad move IMHO and would seem to be evidence that DVC does not want members staying anywhere but DVC resorts. Not impressed:sad2:

This is interesting as I'd often wondered if Euro Disney SCA's relationship with Marriott had any bearing :)

And the $95 'out of network' fee would also apply, would it not?

I've always said however that using DVC points for DLRP is a poor value, and apparently has become even more so!

Rates are reasonable at the Cheyenne and Santa Fe, moreso if one member of the party buys a relatively cheap AP (when compared to the American parks)

Not quite sure where you got this info, but I had two sources look into this for me and 2008 still includes passes FYI according to the dvcmember.com website

Yes the DVCmember website says that passes are still included in 2008. Not sure how as point requirements have dropped around 20 points per night across the board, every season and every resort.:confused3

As I mentioned to Simzac earlier, I am highly suspicious of DVC giving back anything to members, based on recent events. A 20 point drop per night is very significant, although it doesn't offset the $95 fee. But still..... :confused3

I wonder if it has to do with the very low percentage of DVC members using points at DLRP?

I have spoken to 2 different people at MS about the passes being included in the 2008 points bookings according to the website points page information, and was told in no uncertain terms that I was reading it wrong and that passes were not included in DLRP points bookings, and even if I had an AP I would have to buy length of stay passes from MS before they could process a points booking for me.

Just looked on the member website, and could not find any points charts for Paris. Perhaps it has been taken down b/c of discrepancies on the pass issue. In any case, we were planning on using points for this in 2008, and will buy the length of stay passes if required. Will call MS in a bit, and report back.

I called MS last week to book my stay at DLP. We are taking another couple with us and planned on using our points for hotel and tickets. I looked up on the website and the point chart said 2008 points and that length of stay tickets were included. The MS stated the updated policy that tickets were included. I told her about the website and she said, "where did you find that". I directed her and she found it and read it out loud to me and was totally stumped! I saved the webpage as proof. I asked to speak with a manager because the website said and they should honor it.

I was now speaking with a manager and she said the same that is not the policy. I said well it says it right on the website and should honor it. I said, "I can't be the first to call and ask about this". The manager said, "Yes, ma'am you are the first person to bring this to our attention." A fact that I now know is not true, according to this thread.

She spoke with a manager and credited my entire party with length of stay passes ($523 value).

I would like to say you were not reading it wrong - the website did say that.

I noticed today that the listing is no longer on the website, I am sure they are updating it as we speak.

Well good for you that you held them to it!!

I strongly suspect that this thread and another one on a different Disney thread resulted in the charts being pulled for 'maintenance'..... far too good to be true, and sadly the sceptic in me was right

Glad that I had seen this, and knew what I was in for when I called today to make my reservations for two nights at the Disneyland Hotel in March. I was required to buy the length-of-stay tickets for all in my party, although the ticket for my youngest daughter was free as a result of a promotion. One thing that it is useful to note is that the tickets are fully refundable if you cancel outside of 15 days from the date of arrival.

Too bad this all changed, but there you are. Still very much looking forward to our visit.

Points charts are still not back on the website.
