Anxious to hear from anyone beginning their stay this week at DVC ‘s at WDWD.

I wonder how long they (Disney) can keep this level of attendance up and not continue to lose money? It looks deserted, which is great for the current few guests, but not so great for business, I would think.

Well I kind of think it would be kind of calm certainly until the parks open up. They are nice resorts but the reality is the Parks are certainly the draw and makes a difference. Otherwise there are plenty of nice resorts to stay at.

we were at Riviera opening day for 2 nights. It was fabulous. We also did Topolino's character dining and it was very good. I have posted videos on YouTube. I can't post links, but here are the titles if anyone wants to look them up.

New Modified Character Breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace with Social Distancing

Sat with the wife and had snacks and a drink there yesterday.

You can’t consume alcohol on premise unless you are seated and eating as well.

They are letting people order and take whatever they like to the pool though.

I would think indefinitely. What is open right now at the resorts is being paid for with our dues. Disney makes sure to charge us for every single cent that DVC uses. transportation, magic bands, Magical Express, Parking lot, shared common areas, etc. Of course it will be busier when the parks open, but right now we are still paying for the staff, lights, pool, and everything else Disney can think of. This whole experience could even give Disney a little more incite as to how much resources DVC uses and might cause the rates to go up a little for things like the front desk and common areas.

We were back at Wilderness Lodge this weekend - this time at Boulder Ridge. There was a definite difference in the number of people. Whispering Canyon looked almost full from the main lobby view. There were people enjoying the lobby in almost each section of seating during the pre-check in times and even later at night you could find a few people enjoying the lobby. (Even the Boulder Ridge side has several groups hanging out waiting for rooms since it was 110 with the heat index by the pool). Both pools had 30-50% of the tables used and no cabanas were available on the DVC side.

Geiser Point had table service and they also allowed a couple people to sit at the bar in the corners while they waited on food enjoying a drink or 2, but the quick service was still closed.

The hotel was still nowhere near full, but there were a lot more people than the 100, the hotel had 3 weeks ago.
