It looks great! That is the first breakfast review of trattoria al forno I have seen. I probably would've went with the waffles or eggs. I'll have to add this to the list of places to try.

I have never seen free coffee out,.......

Wonder when that stopped. I don't think I ever had info about that posted on the FAQ thread.
It was there is the early 2000's. I can't remember when they stopped it, but my guess would be at least ten years ago.

They have good gluten free Mickey waffles at Captain's Grille. I love those things. :)

Sufficiently carbo-loaded, we returned to our room (or tried to) to prepare for the first practice session of the Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team.
I can't wait to hear more about this day. :)

While the food porn looks good, I'm still waiting for more antics. Bring on the hot tub stories!
    Hot tub stories- Next update.

There were not many antics in this update, but that will change very soon.

    Typical Monkey Tease......
Some antics, and more teasing, in the latest update.

Probably a good thing that they stopped offering free early-morning coffee to guests before I started staying at the Beach Club. I might have bankrupted the resort!

    Good to know! ::yes::

    Your wish is my command!

Ooh nice to know there is another breakfast option in the area.
Options are good. I enjoyed my meal, and especially the company, but to be honest I can find more things that tempt me on the Captain's Grille menu.

I am glad the waffles were good. I remember how happy you were to get them!

It does get confusing, trying to keep track of all those names... must be a sign of aging!

I think you are right in your proposed menu choices.

    Breakfast looks good!!!
It was a really nice time together. This trip was one of the rare ones where the food was a secondary player to the company.

    "What is Your "Proper" Name?"

After breakfast, we returned to our room to get the small, but coveted gift Rebecca had for our friend Teena, who was now on duty in the lobby.

    What’s in the bag???

A Joisey tomato from Rebecca’s garden!

I’m sure the homegrown treat did not make it out of Teena’s breaktime.

We exchanged hugs, chatted for a bit and promised to be back soon. Real soon as it turned out!

We returned to our room after our lovely, but brief visit with Teena so that we could change into our practice uniforms only to discover that we had been locked out of our room!

Did they view surveillance footage from our antics the night before at the Yacht Club?

We are a bright group of monkeys and immediately realized that it was a dead battery on the band reader since the indicator was not registering either the green or red. We knew it was not our Magic Bands. Rebecca and I returned to the lobby front desk to report the issue.

We waited in line at the Concierge desk and we found that one of the dwarfs from Snow White must be pulling double duty, because it was definitely Grumpy who was “helping” us. We told him the issue with our room, stating that it was a dead battery on the door lock. He asked to see our Magic Bands. Rebecca handed hers over and when the name “Rafiki” came up, he condescendingly asked

    “What is your proper name?”

    :snooty:

We had a similar exchange when he examined my band (which, as we all knew, was NOT the problem). I have 3 MDE accounts- one for my family (Diana Lastname), one for my girls trips (Dee Lastname) and one for the class trips (Dee Hometown).

When he asked my proper name, and I said Diana, he told me “You are NOT on the reservation”. I told him the name was under “Dee”. He harumphed and spent the next few minutes fidgeting with his computer changing the name from Dee to Diana. Unnecessary!

Finally, he said they would send someone up from maintenance to fix the door.

No offer to come up and let us in to our room.

Fortunately, we were able to find someone who could let us in.

We finally had access to the SABSPTT (Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team) equipment room.

We changed into our practice uniforms and fortified ourselves with some “OJ” in our refill mugs.

    It is important to hydrate.

Once we were properly in uniform, we marched through the lobby to take a team picture with our mascot:

We also had to take a picture with our Coach (read the backpack), but he seemed too embarrassed to show his face!

Getting a little later start than we had hoped, it was time to hit the pool!

I can happily report that the monkey lamp is still safe and sound in the Yacht Club lobby. Tried to get a picture of it but folks were obsessed with sitting by it. I didn't want to be weird and try to get pic of it.

That is hilarious. I can't believe he changed the name on your reservation. It's a good thing he didn't see you dressed in your swim team gear. ;)

How fun was that?!! Oh yes, the tomatoes. Fun morning in spite of Grumpy!
That was such a fun, silly morning!

I love that Teena got so excited about the tomatoes. And that was even before she saw the stash of Tasty Cakes!

    :grouphug:

    Still being a tease!

As you know, the flowered bathing cap will make an unwelcome appearance later in the report!

    Teena has a wonderful smile.

I have heard great things about the dinner at Tratorria al Forno. Teena and family had a fabulous meal there this summer. As you can see, Teena was VERY excited when Rebecca produced the produce!

The swim team got a little later start than we hoped, but we definitely made a splash at the pool!

Good to know. ~NM left the resort after me, and we still have suspicions about the whereabouts of the missing BC Fish Lamp, so I was a little worried about the monkey lamp.

That is funny that you couldn't get a picture.

    :crowded:

I so love the photo of Teena getting her tomato!

And, knowing Dee is a Walking Dead fan, I'm slurping down a Sunken Treasure or two right about now.
    Me too!

Thanks for thinking of me while you were getting into the zombie state with a couple of STs. :drinking1

I have not seen any episodes of the Dead yet this season. We will watch them all together in coming weeks on a Saturday or Sunday. I watched The Good Wife last night and then I watched the live Deep Brain Stimulation surgery on Nat Geo. For a number of reasons, I did not sleep well last night.

    :cat:

Oh, he most certainly DID see us in our gear! We made sure to parade in front of his desk. He works at the counter you can see in that last picture with our "coach" and the MJ the CM photobombing us. He is not the (half) CM you can see in the picture, but I think he is right next to him.

Trained Monkeys: Stormalong Bay Synchronized Pool Tube Team practice- No Tubes in the Tubs!

This next part of the report comes without much explanation.

    There really is no explanation.

    :sad2:

First order of business was staking out a spot to stash our stuff:

    OOPS!!!

Then it was time to hit the pool:

    Little Mermaid Wannabe:

It was a tough workout and one of our monkeys actually fell asleep while floating. Truth!

    Better hit the showers!

    Woah! Scary selfie!

    ~NinjaMom’s first fans!

    Let’s take some publicity photos:

Every team has a bad boy (or monkey) and it was hard to keep one of our teammates in line.

    No Tubes in the Tubs!!!

ETA: D'OH!!! How did I complete this update without including a link to last year's inaugural meeting of the SAB Synchronized Pool Tube Team? In addition to putting the link here, I will post the whole update in a subsequent post.

Next Up: “Yes, We Have No Bananas”
We don’t have any Pineapples, either, so Hot Fudge Sundae for Lunch
