Antics of the Orange Banded Monkeys: Heartbreaking News June 2017

We ate at Captain's Grille in February and the boats had stopped moving completely. There were some broken boats when we ate there in January and I guess they decided to turn them off.

So sad!

It took us a coupled trips worth of searching to find the interesting architectural feature. I guess you have to see it in the right light to have it look interesting. ;)

Once found, it cannot be unseen.

:magnify:

Your pictures are really good. I can't remember Illuminations looking so colorful.

Thank you!!! We had a great spot for seeing the show. Maybe the rain brings out the colors.

That is a cute toy. Maybe I'll have to get one for my granddaughter so that I can play, too. ;)

I have teen boys, so the only things I get to play with are video games.

I was not aware that Rebecca had purchased "Well-dressed, but emotionally distressed" Minnie.

I love all the parks at night, but EPCOT is my favorite. Especially World Showcase.

I'm not sure what you are speaking of and I'm not easily offended. I work with high school aged kids, so I've pretty much seen and heard it all.

One thing I do know is that the Tower of Terror blends into the Moroccan skyline. You can see it best from the steps of the Mexican pavilion.

I agree with Rebecca. Everyone needs a dress up Minnie!

EPCOT is beautiful at night. These were the best pictures I have taken there because I was by myself and I could actually stop and take the pictures. Usually I am snapping while on the move.

OK. I warned you. PM sent.

I was blown away when I learned about how ToT blends in with Morocco. After I found out, I have taken various pictures from different places along the World Showcase.

:rotfl2:I know what you're talking about but have never been able to find it and given that I live with teenaged son as among others I've ceased to be offended by pretty much everything a loooong time ago so, yeah send me the picture:thumbsup2

Sent you a PM.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:You are one funny lady NM :goodvibes
Was that you and your friend Matthew canoodling behind the rocks in Dee's "not quite empty" SAB photo????

That is an interesting theory... Ninja had already left the restaurant before I did and there is no way of knowing if she went directly back to the room or not...

:love2:

Great update! Your pictures of Illuminations are impressive. That is not an easy show to capture with still photos.

Love the dress up Minnie. A perfect toy for a mother of boys! I'd play with dress up Minnie too.

And finally, I don't believe this statement from Ninja Mom for a second. She's definitely the kiss and tell type!

I am not the kiss and tell type...

Hidden Treasure

I think it was sometime around 8 when we were finished with dinner. I was headed to EPCOT to stroll for a bit. Ninja and Rebecca went back to the room, but Rebecca was going to meet up with me for Illuminations. Nannette stayed behind at the Captain’s Grill to spend some more time with Sue. She said she may see us in EPCOT later.

Here were some of the sights along the way.

An empty Stormalong Bay:

Hey! What’s going on behind those rocks???

It was sprinkling out, but still beautiful:

While walking by France, there was a photopass photographer by the fountain so I asked if he would take my picture.

Fail!

Then I was headed here, to try to find something I had read about in others’ trip reports, but had never seen myself, even though I had looked on a couple of previous trips.

This is where I stood, with my back against the wall near the Moroccan restaurant, looking back out towards EPCOT.

Finally, I found it.

The hidden d#&kie.

If you don't know what I am talking about AND you are not easily offended, I'll send the picture to you by PM.

Mission accomplished, it was time to get in touch with Rebecca to see where to meet. It also started raining. Rebecca let me know that she had found some seats near the Rose & Crown in the UK. We had really nice, but wet, seats for the show:

During the show, we heard from Nannette who was trying to find us, and we were all able to watch together.

This picture is out of order because I was taking some pictures with my phone, some with my camera and some video.

When the show was over, we made our way back to the Beach Club, but the return to our room was not without incident(s).

I know all about that special piece of "architecture". I make sure I take a pic of it, and a similarly shaped wooden back massage item in the store in China, on every conference I attend. I immediately text it out to everyone I know for a good laugh!! It's become a tradition!

OK, I didn't know about the one in China! I'll have to add that to scavenger hunt.

Have you dined at Be Our Guest?

Don't forget the Pantless Prince!

From "What Happens at the Beach Club"

And finally, on the way out of the restaurant, we confirmed that the Emperor has no clothes. I mean, the Prince still does not have pants. Something like that.

Yes. I'm 12!

:lmao:

Maybe that's why our picture at Spaceship Earth did not come out.

::yes::

Thank you so much! They are some of the better pictures I have taken of the show.

It was so fun to see how excited Rebecca was!

Same here! Heck, even if she didn't "kiss" she would make something up. And it would be hilarious.

:rotfl:

Well now where's the fun in that!!!!:love1:

I know, right!?!

!

I can share my toy! Think I will need to find space in my luggage for Minnie for our October trip!

She is not as loose as some would have you believe, those are all tabloid rumors.

Dee,

Since we are discussing the interesting architecture, and since you are from Massachusetts, I have to ask. Have you ever seen John Hancock's grave in Boston? It is similar to the Moroccan architectural piece. LOL

I look forward to making up my own mind about Minnie's morals. :)

:lmao:

Was she down among the corals, by any chance? ;)

There was a song about Minnie losing her morals that we used to sing at camp when I was a kid.

:rotfl2:

No words!

Why, yes, our 5th graders have a field trip to the Freedom Trail in Boston and the Granary Burial Grounds are part of that visit. The guides on the two tours I chaperoned glossed over the nature of the monument, but may have talked about how his large signature on the Declaration of Independence led to accusations of certain shortcomings.

Funny (scary) how politics 300 years later remain the same.

:sad2:

I've seen it! His last name fits the grave!!
