Okay, I tried posting this 3 times and it wouldn't go through. Let me try it again!

This was our 4th time staying at the Dolphin and it did not disappoint!

We were in a 2 BR Executive Suite this time, our first time trying a suite. We had rooms 9005, 9007 and 9009. Housekeeping was impeccable as always!

The spigot in the shower in what I called the master bathroom wouldn't work so I simply informed the front desk as we were leaving one morning. (it wasn't an immediate concern since we had 2 other showers to use!) Upon returning that afternoon there was a message waiting on our phone and we were informed that as part of the Starwood Service Promise (or something like that) since the shower had to be fixed (and was by the time we got back that afternoon) we were being offered 500 Starwood points, a $15 credit towards our room charges or a box of chocolates. I had to put it on speaker phone and had her repeat the choices so my family could listen and my boys said "candy, we want the candy!" It was a pretty gold box of different shaped and filled chocolates. (simple pleasures for simple minds I always say)

We were disappointed to find out the Dolphin Fountain is closed for renovations. In the past we would often stop by for a quick snack or ice cream upon return from the parks. No problem though, we indulged in quite a few Haagen-Daz Dulce De Leche ice cream bars from Tubbi's!

The new Mandara Spa looks heavenly! They offer everything from hair cuts and colors to facials, massages, and manicures/pedicures. One thing that peaked my interest is the Mandara Ritual ~ Nirvana Bliss for A Day~ a 5 hour and 30 minute session that is described as: Surrender to your own oasis with the Exotic Frangipani Body Nourish Wrap, Aroma Stone Therapy, Pro-Collagen Marine Facial, Blow Dry, Spa Manicure and Spa Pedicure.

Here are the views we had:

I'm so glad you had a great time. The Dolphin is our favorite resort--great pictures!

Glad you had a wonderful time - and WOW what a view - just beautiful

I meant to add more photos to this thread, but my father passed away and I've been preoccupied.

Here are a few photos of our suite. This is the entry way into the suite, it had a dark slate floor, to the right was a little mini kitchen area. There were lots of cabinet space and the marble counter that looked over the living room area (where you see our bags from that day's purchases) would be perfect for mixing and serving drinks in a party type of atmosphere:

The next photo shows the living room area. The green sofa pulled out into a sleeper-sofa, but we didn't need it. You can see how our rooms ran right through to the other (open doors.)

Here is the other side of the room with the King Sico Bed that was made up incase we needed it. I guess you could request that it be folded up into the wall, but it didn't matter either way to us, so we just left it.

Here is the king room that DH and I slept in (I could smack him upside the head for taking these AFTER we had messed them up, what the heck?)

And the room w/two double beds that my boys used (photo once again taken before housekeeping arrived  )

Each "bedroom" had it's own closet, bathroom and TV:

And this is what I called the "master bathroom" because the counter space and closet behind it was extra large and roomy! That became my personal bathroom that nobody else used, LOL! This bathroom was right off the foyer as you entered the room.

Thanks for posting these pics of the suite, Blondie. With only 3 of us, it seems a waste to get one but I've always wondered what they looked like--I try to peek in when housekeeping is in there. It looks fabulous. And now I need another trip back.

I'm so sorry about your dad. :grouphug:

Thank you Amy!

We were supposed to be in a 1BR exec. suite, but they assingned us the wrong bed set-up; 2 King size beds.

There's no way in hades that my two teen boys will sleep in the same bed with each other, even if it's a king size bed!

When we discovered the bed set-up I called down to see if there was anything else they could give us. The guy I talked to on the phone told me that there was a suite with what we needed on the opposite side of the resort, but it wouldn't have the nice view we had. I told him I'd rather stay put and figure something out then he said "hold on let me see if this is available, no, let me try this, hold on, oh what the heck, I'll give you the next room over that has two doubles and not charge you for it!"

Now that's what I call customer service!

I want my own bathroom on vacation too! :teeth: Thanks for posting the pictures and I'm sorry to hear about your dad.

I'll tell you what, one of best features I think of having a suite (of any kind at any resort) is the extra bathrooms! What a time saver! The suite was absolutely perfect in every way!

That was just wrong! That guy is UNBELIEVABLE!

Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip but so sorry for the loss of your dad!

We are going to be staying at the Dolphin for our very first time for Easter. Requested a room with a balcony and EPCOT view. Usually stay at the YC or GF but are looking forward to the Dolphin. I was a little concerned when you said that the icecream shop is closed for renovations. Do you know when it will reopen?

Hey, we were in that exact suite last year from Christmas to NYE!! Too bad they couldn't give you the room on the other side of the parlor with 2 doubles, as it faces Epcot - nice view.

We loved that suite so much we are doing it again this year... sharing with another family... a total of 6 kids (between ages of 2 and 7) between us - crazy, but a real blast!

I'll be staying at the Dolphin for the first time in Jan, and this post just made me even more excited! I can't wait to try to the spa too!

Is there really only 1 sink at the Dolphin? All hotels have 2 sinks these days. Makes it much easier with a family. I know, I am being petty.

I wondered about that too, but we could see into that room from the main suite's window, and it appeared to be down for renovation. We could see things laying on the floor and what not.

Have a great time when you return, wish I was going with you!

Yep, only one sink. If you really need two, try the Swan. They have what is called a "hollywood bath" with a sink on the inside with the tub and toilet, and another one right outside the door. :)
