Another "what would you have done" situation

What would YOU have done? In case it happens again.

Hopefully it won't happen again. Your poor child. The smell of beer on my child would have driven me crazy.

But, I would NOT have accepted the money. It was $5. Not a huge amount. The lady was sorry. I would have chalked it up to a mistake and money had nothing to do with it.

A brew is one thing, brew after brew after brew to the point of getting drunk and obnoxious is another.

I don't see a whole lot of difference between an obnoxious drunk and an obnoxious non-drunk.

I wouldn't have taken the money. She sounded like she was sorry and it was an accident.

I agree. She apologized (which unfortunately is more than a lot of people would do anymore)

I think you taught your son a great lesson in being gracious. And how adults should act. She did something accidentally, apologized and you accepted her apology. These are the life lessons that help raise a great kid.

:thumbsup2

People get excited at a game. It isn't uncommon to have something spilled on you. You did the right thing and used it as a good teaching moment for your child.

I wouldn't have taken the money either, though if she would have insisted I would have asked her to drop it in a charity box or go ahead and give it to the kid or something. I'm just thinking, what if it was me that spilled on a kid -- I know it would make me feel better if they'd accept both my apology and a token of that apology.

We went to the Panthers/Bears game yesterday. We have Panthers season tickets since my DH works for the Panthers. We are usually surrounded by other Panthers fans but yesterday we were surrounded by Bears fans.

My five year old son had just had his face painted - it was a Panther face and was $10. A lady behind us got excited when the Bears scored for the second time and spilt her beer all over DS's head. It was an accident but it made my son cry and it ruined his face painting.

We got up from our seats and I tipped the face painter $2 to touch up his face - still wasnt like new but it was good enough to satisfy DS. He got some ice cream and was fine...although he smelled like a brewery. We got back to our seats and the lady kept appologizing. She offered me cash - I think it was $5. I said that it wasnt necessary. DH said I should have accepted the money. I said that since it was accidental I shouldnt take it. DH's position is that it ruined the paint job and even though it was an accident, I should have accepted her help since her accident cost me more money.

What would YOU have done? In case it happens again.
You were right to not accept the money.

(I fail to see what your story has to do about being surrounded by Bears fans.)

This!

I think it's great to remove drunk Joe from his seat, but as a motorist, I'd rather security hold him a bit before helping him find his car! :scared1:
Security doesn't have the authority to hold such a person.

#1. Because beer is awesome
#2. Because it makes women more attractive.
#3. How else should I forget my problems?
#4. Beer sales a huge source of revenue.

Because Bears fans were the only people getting excited at the game. All the Panthers fans were crying in their beers, not jumping up and down with them.
