We had some last minute additions to our March 31- April 6 trip and now need a 2 bedroom. My DD had her heart set on AKV and right now I have a savanna view booked for April 1-4. I've wait listed for that first night and the last 2. There is a lot of availability for this room just not the dates we need. I don't mind moving us once, either at the beginning of the trip or the end but I do not want a 3 room move in 6 nights! UGH, I have not had any luck with wait lists lately. OKW is available the whole time ( right this second),but I'm trying to make DD's dream come true. Any advice?

I just had a VGF standard view studio waitlist for April 2nd come thru after being on the waitlist for less than 2 weeks so there's movement and hope!

That is a tough choice though - I'd think you have a decent chance for the 1 night. You don't have enough points to cover the OKW while trying to get the AKV, do you?

One other think of note - you're bumping up against the Darkside race at WDW - that starts on the 5th. Often a race weekend means less movement in availability. If I could hold the OKW and what I already had at AKV and then waitlist the necessary nights for AKV that would be my first option. At a minimum I'd book the last 2 nights at OKW as those may prove to be the most difficult to get at AKV.

Thanks. I was wondering why availability is so limited starting on the 5th. I ended up booking OKW for the entire 6 nights split into two 3 night reservations, then waitlisted both for AKV. Maybe those first 3 nights will come through.

Good luck with getting one - or maybe both!

Good luck!

I just got back today from an 8 night stay at BLT LV studio. January 4-12.
End of NYE and beginning of Marathon Weekend, which some told me would be impossible.

I had four connesecjtive nights booked at BLT after having all 8 nights at SSR.
I had WL for two nights. One night, January 4 came through. I stalked ALL.DAY.EVERY DAY. I literally mean, ALL.DAY.
I had an automatic refresh on Chrome that I set all day at work and checked when home. First thing in morning and last thing I did at night. I was able to piece together all my nights. If you do a search on my user name, you will see how much time it took and I had dreams about stalking, but I was successful.

I originally had SSR, then CC, BLT, SSR, GF and SSR and then BLT SSR then BLT. Good luck. Just stalk and modify. Dont just look and then go back your room may be gone, I speak from experience.

Let us know how you make out.

We are going April 3rd - 9th and I booked it exactly at 7months out. I will say I was shocked by how little there was available for the 5th and 6th when I booked a few months ago! I booked a stdio because it was only DH and myself this time.
I think you made the right choice...but good luck, I hope your wait-list comes thru and you get to stay at AKV the whole time...kids sure do complicate things sometimes! Lol

We just decided to take a 5 night cruise out of Miami and needed villas at Disney for both weekends - before and after. We started looking last month.

I have been watching the resort availability tool for the weekend of April 5-7 for a month and a half. Very little movement. The only resorts with availability for a 2 bedroom have been ssr and okw.

I would suggest checking the resort availability tool yourself multiple times per day and hope you get lucky and pick up a cancellation.

Good luck. I would suspect you may see more movement in February and March. Once a ressie is canceled within 30 days points go into holding and there are many that wait a week or so up until that point. Just keep watching.
