Another wart thread

we havent had any issues with it spreading to any other children I didnt put any bandaides on his abdomen either..Just no sharing bath towels, etc between the kids.. He has had it since Feb.. I was all ready for it to run its coarse since it can heal without any treatment but since he has some on his neck now I wanted it treated. so far so good. dd never got it or any of his friends for that matter, etc.. He never had it any further down than his trunk- its all been on his abdomen and his trunk until it showed up on his neck last month. His really is minor case. I didnt even deal with the pediatrician since I knew what it was and took him to my dermatologist. I have heard that aldara works also too. Its just one of those things and I will remember next time we vacation at that resort since we go yearly.. I guess living in fla maybe our chlorine levels are higher at our pool, not sure but I have heard horror stories from my friends that live in other parts of the country that have had to deal with larger cases of it with their kiddos..

ok i know this will sound strange but here goes

i had 13 warts on my fingers i went to the doctor and had them all removed well they all came back

so now for the strange part

before my dad passed away he asked me how many do you have and i told him he takes 13 penny's and hands them to me and tells me to put them in my wallet. i figured i would amuse him so i did and he said there i just bought all your warts so give them to me and i said how. well he said i had to keep all the money until they where all gone and then i could spend it. again i did so just to amuse him. well to my disbelive with in 5 days they where all gone and none of them came back. i just got one here with in the last couple of weeks and had the wife buy it on sunday so we will see if it still works

I was just at a seminar this weekend and one of the speakers, Sue Becker of www.breadbeckers.com mentioned that because of the health benefits of grinding your own wheat & making bread, biscuits, etc. that she has had many customers tell her that in 2 weeks, warts are gone. One teen had as many as 500 warts all disappear. Check out her testimonial page.

You can get a free audio CD on their website, where she goes more into other health benefits that are gained by milling your own flour.

Do you think I could use this remedy on my dog? Is Apple Cider Vinegar safe for his leg. I took him to the vet and the vet said he would have to be sedated to have it removed. Since he had just had ear surgery the vet wanted to hold off for a while.

The wart doesn't bother my dog but it really skeeves me out! :scared: I would love to try a natural remedy but I want to make sure it's safe for my dog?

ETA: I just got off the phone with my vet and he said go for it. Thanks for the tip!

Let us know how it works! Good luck keeping that tape on him, though.

I know there was quite a long thread about wart removal and home remedies a while back, and the one I tried was the apple cider vinegar. It worked really well on what I would call the traditional wart, like the cauliflower top. Turned it black and fell off.

But my son also has what I would call flat warts. They're small, flat and several are clustered together. The apple cider vinegar doesn't seem to have much affect on these. There doesn't appear to be any black seeds surfacing like the other warts.

Anyone ever have this type of wart and can recommend anything to get rid of them?

My sister had these really bad on the bottom of her heel. She had them surgically removed twice, they kept coming back. Hear this new remedy - The doctor told her to keep it covered with duct tape. They never came back!

To use the Apple Cider Vinegar:

Soak a small piece of cotton ball in vingear, place on the wart and wrap with 1st aid tape--use overnight for several days until the wart goes away (it usually falls off). I used it for a couple days even after the wart fell off. It worked better on my son's plantar warts than the liquid wart remover we had used. Also, it helps to use an emery board to file down the top of the wart so the vinegar gets in there. It stings for a second or two but not unbearable. Don't use that emery board on anyone else as it contains the wart virus!

Way OT, but Denise, I just LOVE your siggy!!! "I am not left handed!" Well, actually I am, but that's beside the point. best movie and book ever. Period.::yes::

I have a pretty good wart removal trick. My ds had one on his hand when he was 5 and the doctor told us this trick.

Soak the area to soften the wart. Then take a clean emery board and rub the area gently. Apply the wart remover and cover with a band-aide. Do this everyday until the wart it gone.

It worked for my son and he hasn't had one since that was over 2 yrs ago.

This is the exact method our pediatrician used on a wart on DD11's palm a few months ago. I watched her and thought "I can do this myself". It cost almost $100 to get the treatment in the Drs. office! The wart remover they have is the same as Compound W or the like, but it's at a stronger concentration. It didn't go away completely, so I bought the Wal-Mart brand of Compound W and treated her myself the same way (with the soaking, emory board etc.) one more time, and it finally died. I dug it out of her palm once it was black and you wouldn't even know she had a wart there - no scarring etc.
