Another Waitlist Question

I currently have two nights booked in a studio at BCV for 10/27 - 10/29 for Family that is going to join us for part of our trip. They would like to stay three nights, so I have waitlisted the night before and the night after.

I have seen comments about checking the availability on-line even if you have a waitlist. Does a cancelled room automatically go to the next waitlist request, or is it possible that I would see availability before they fill my waitlist request? The entire month is booked, so I think our chances right now are pretty slim.

The wait-list program only runs at certain times, to there is a window where the room would be available and not grabbed for the wait-list.

Thanks. Since there is only one day available for a studio the entire month, I think I better keep checking myself.
