Ever the optimist, I waitlisted for a 1-bedroom BW view for the night of December 26 (I'm booked in a confirmed BW view for the rest of the week). Anyhow, I was placed on the waitlist on April 25, so it's been a little over a month.

I realize the odds are against me for this waitlist, but has anyone had success waitlisting for this time of year? I have a 1-BR pool view booked for the night, but naturally I would like to not have to move that one night. Has anyone sucessfully waitlisted for this time of year? If so, how long did it take for the waitlist to come through?

I have not tried to book December, but I have just gone through the up's & down's of the wait list for July in Vero Beach.

Be patient! I was put on the list in February and did not get many of my days until May. 3-months later. They should link all of your nights together so you do not have to move. Make sure your wait list is on automatic confirmation, that way they don't waste time trying to contact you first.

You still have a lot of months ahead of you. Good luck & Merry Christmas! :santa:

Thanks for the encouragement, Doug. Being patient is not one of my strong points, so this waitlist business is killing me. I am on autoconfirm up to 7 days prior - we'll see what happens!

Please keep all fingers and toes crossed! Has anyone else had luck with the waitlist for Christmastime?

It was 2 years ago, and for a studio, and I didn't have as many months to get it as you have. 3 months before our December 20th GG someone new asked to come, I needed a studio BWV, for 3 nights and all they had was 1st night BW view, 2nd night Preferred, and 3rd night BW view. Well, I waitlisted for anything that would be in one room, so they wouldn't have to move, and what came about was 3 nights Preferred.

So, yes, something can open up for you, and I hope it does!!

The good news is that the pool view and the BW view cost the same number of points. You can stay on the waitlist to the "bitter end" if necessary - no banking deadlines or holding account rules to worry about. I assume you plan to call at least once or twice a day during the last 7 days, but I hope it comes through before then.

Good luck!

We were in a similar situation last year. We had a 1BR PV booked for Columbus Day and the rest of the days booked in a 1BR BWV. We got the BWV on the Friday before we checked in

As already noted, there is no cost to you to you (except the time to call MS everyday in those last 7 days) even if you have to hold out to the bitter end.

Best of luck -- Suzanne

Suzanne, how far in advance did you waitlist?

We waitlisted about 6 months for that 1 night. We were able to confirm the 9 remaining nights of our trip for a BW view at the 6 month mark. We were new members who had just put a deposit down and were very happy to get a BW view for our first trip home. -- Suzanne

Thanks, Suzanne! That gives me some hope. :)
