Argh, found out that hubby's HR screwed up the benefits.. hopefully they will change what needs to be done and not have chunk o change taken out of his scheck for their mistake. I swear the district benefits are the hardest to figure out and then fix when they screw it up. When he worked for them part time (not benefit elgible) as an after school tutor they took his last measly check and gave him $20... they put the rest into the retirement account.. ummm he's not qualified??? Took several months to get it back, of course he had to restart it now that he is elgible.

:rotfl2: That is WAY cute!!!

Aren't they funny! I know there are weird hats like that for teenagers, but this was the first I found for infants. I found another that is all knitted, it's skull cap type black with a white skull for a "pirate baby".. freaking cute stuff out there! The typical clothing is fine and sweet, but if you want to make a statment.. it can be found on Etsy ! :thumbsup2

Yikes! We have OODLES of issues with HR at Frelans work. Bunch of ding dongs if you ask me. :rolleyes1

Speaking of benefits.. We just switched over to our high policy... I figured with TWO babies coming, extra insurance might be a good idea. :rolleyes1 Maternity care is covered 100% with a $100 co-pay. I wonder how it will work with me being pregnant on both plans. Of course, the hospital stay is only covered 80%. THATS going to cost us a gagillion dollars.

Switching plans? or is this an additonal rider?

Health insurance confuzzles my brain.
The whole insurance and health care system needs an overhaul, but like most Americans, we ask.. what would be the best way to fix it?

Last year the boys and I didn't even use our insurance. Insurance in general ... Seems a waste to shell out a huge chunck of money for very little in return.. unless you KNOW you will use it : preg, babies, chronic health issues.

We just upgraded plans. From basic to premium...

I'm still not sure how E will be covered. Dialysis Social worker told us that his new insurance will be primary.. we tried to argue that no.. it's beyond the 30 months since diagnosis thus they will be always secondary. She didn't agree, it's all very confusing because she should know the rules.

No clue what we will pay, if anything beyond Medicare premium and med co pays. If they try to charge $55 copay per dialysis (looks like all dialysis centers are tier 2, i.e. higher copay) .. we would be so screwed. $1320 / month :sad2:

Yowzers!!
Makes sense, bite off the paycheck but what can ya do right?

Yep. But we dont pay that much for insurance anyways.. Compared to others. It will go from $30 a paycheck, to $100. a paycheck. I think. My sis was saying they pay like $400 a month!

Lucky duck!

School district plan is over $600 per month for family, no cost for single coverage.

$2000 deducible per family
Preventive care is covered 100%
copays range $30/$55/$80 for illness
80/20% or 70/30% +$300 co pay or 60/40% +$500 copay for hospitalization

It sucks!

I hate tiered plans. But it was better than the higher deductible plan with an HSA.

Guess who is shopping for an affordable plan for the rest of us? :rolleyes1
