Another TSA story

That is one vacant expression.

Also...you felt violated by a previous search, so you retaliate by showing up in your underwear?? I call shenanigans.

Well, everyone is different in how they feel. I personally, and I know that this sounds silly, but I would rather have the "X-ray vision" scan than a stranger touch my private body parts. I would also rather strip down to my underwear in a private room with a TSA agent than be touched, grouped, certain chest anatomy lifted up, hands down my pants, etc. which is what I am reading that these more comprehensive pat-downs entail. That is me. Do I have some issues? Yes I do, but there is very very good reasons that I feel this way....and something tells me I might not be the only person on the planet who might have these issues too. This may have been the only way she felt that she could make it onto her plane without going through the same issues she previously had.

They swabbed her chair, found "explosive" residue and sent her home. That makes a lot of sense!?

She looks freaky. Like I might have nightmares about her. Shudder!!!!!:scared1:

They did not find explosive residue, they found nitrates. That is all that machine can detect--it is essentially worthless. They are still looking for C-4 in electronics, because of what happened 20 years ago at Lockerbee (sp?), even though there are more efficient explosives available today.

There are a million non-devious reasons to have nitrate residue. For example: have a heart condition and take nitroglycerin, live in a rural area with nitrate fertilizer application, heck rolling the chair though a garden will do it. She probably just cleaned her chair with a little windex, so it would not alarm and was on her way today. If she wants to wear her drawers to the airport, I could care less.

She looked like a robot...like one of those fembots from the six million dollar man

I also feel the way you do,possibly for the same reasons you do. Actually on the news there have been a couple people, male and female that have done this, with just the underwear, etc. And I hate when people say oh other people have to get the pat downs, well you don't know what has happened in people's lives that they don't like when people touch them

These new machines and the pat downs are outrageous. As of now, I don't think I will fly. I won't let them pat me down..and I wouldn't let them touch my children either.

I don't these methods are going to stop anyone.

Just last Friday, my dad and I had a big argument because I said I wouldn't fly with my children until these "security" measures were settled because there was no way someone was going to have the right to touch my kids if, for example, they forgot to take a matchbox car out of their pocket. He said I was ridiculous and selfish for not giving them the same opportunities I had to travel internationally. He (like me) LOVES to travel.

Fast forward 6 days, and he is off with my mom to Philadelphia. He calls my sister on the verge of tears to tell her that he had been selected for the pat down and that it was AWFUL. A complete violation, with hands run all over the body including his privates. He had gone through the xray machine, and no reason was given, no indication what had triggered the additional screening.

He actually said that he almost felt that I was right:rotfl:

I will not give up my right to privacy particularly without cause, and more specifically, I will not give up my minor children's rights.

I do think that security measures will be refined - people are upset and eventually $$$ will talk to the airlines.

The woman who protested the TSA groping at the Oklahoma City Airport (yes, the one who many of you are bashing) isn't some bimbo. She's a retired, disabled dentist. She's also a human being who happens to have a name:

Tammy Banovac.

Here she is back the 1990s at her job before she became disabled (chronic seizures). The dog she had in her lap in the airport video/pictures is actually a service dog who can detect oncoming seizures.

I'd love to see how many of those criticizing her would dare appear in their skivies at age 52!!!

Google is our friend :)

she appeared in playboy in 1997 ........dental girls........ That pic is probably from that issue
