Am I supposed to tip when I get my dog groomed? Grooming includes the usual- shampoo, hair cut, nails. She is a 20 pound cockapoo.

I normally tip 18-20% but I just wanted to see what other people do!

Thanks.

I found a groomer willing to deal with my snappy dog (she was abused before I got her, and were still working on the behavior issues with strangers) and even though she charges somewhat less then others in the area, she refuses tips. Says its not right. Although, she does take donations for the local animal control. So I usually bring in a small bag of kibble and sometimes homemade goodies when I pick my dog up. She does a great job, and makes something that is dreadful great! I get my dog done every six weeks, and usually bring something every time for the donation box. I guess the cost of the kibble comes out to20% ish.

I have a shich tzu that does really well, until you start messing with her feet. She hates to have the hair that grows between the pads of her feet trimmed and will sometimes get a little snappy, when the groomer messes with that area. I always tip 20% and if the groomer says she was snappy I always feel bad and tip a little more.

My dog is not an easy dog- he is only 36 pounds but to be groomed I muzzle him and tranquilize him- its typically 60.00 to groom him and I give her 100.00 just because she has to deal with him LOL. I want to make sure they will keep grooming him and not say they don't want him anymore (had 2 that won't groom him!)

I have a 50 pound goldendoodle. We get him groomed at a small local shop that is very reasonable. He is excellent at the groomers and the groomer doesn't even crate him after because he'll just follow her around after. I still tip her $10 for a $60 groom. She does a great job. She looked at me a little funny after I brought him there the first time and tipped her but she does a much better job than other places we've been and I wanted her to know that :)

Yes, I tip the groomer. The bill is $50 and I tip $7 usually.
