I have read a few posts on the tiw card. my question is what are perks of having the card, and does it save you money vs. the cost of the card?

If you spend over $375 on table serivice meals you will save money with TIW. We visit from the UK and in a 14 day trip our record is $875 of savings.

$75 for AP holders. You get 20% discount on all food and drink inc alcohol at most TS places. An 18% automatic gratuity is added. It's basically a 'free tips' card

Here is a working example, using $100.00 as the original bill to make the math show up easily. Note this is for Table Service. At Counter Service there is no gratuity added.

100.00 - Original Amount
*20.00 - Discount
*80.00 - Subtotal
*18.00 - Gratuity Added based on $100
**5.20 - Sales Tax on $80
103.20 - Final amount charged, takes into consideration discount, gratuity and tax.

Without TiW Discount (and still figuring 18% Gratuity)

100.00 - Amount of Bill
*18.00 - Gratuity
**6.50 - Sales Tax on $100
124.50 - Total

$21.30 - Savings using TiW Card.

(Note - At Victoria and Albert's the added gratuity is 20% instead of 18%.)

There are very few CS restaurants that accept TiW. Check the link that chamonix posted above for specifics. Artist's Palette in SSR is one CS that accepts TiW. Another great benefit of TiW is that the discount also taken off of adult beverages. We often order an appetizer or salad with dinner so the discount comes off of that as well. In addition, we usually have a cocktail or wine with dinner so that's a nice perk. We've done the DDP but feel that TiW is a much better value. Our plan is to always have at least one AP so that we an get TiW.

Don't forget if you are driving you get free valet parking. It is good for up to ten people so with a large family it is great or sometimes we meet friend for dinner the savings add up fast if you do alot of sit downs. Any of the hotel food courts that do not have sit down resturants like the french quarter or the values also take it.

A few of us answered you when you asked in a separate thread. The card is not valid for discounts at the festival kiosks or festival events. Only the restaurants and lounges listed when you purchase the card.
