First post here so go easy on me. I've searched and found some info but I'm not sure if it's up to date. We're headed to WDW in late Sept and have already purchased our SWA tickets. I see that rates have gone down a bit but I know we won't travel again in the next year. I originally purchased the internet special tickets, can I still get a refund and not a credit? We'd only really save about $80 so I'm not sure if it's worth the effort if it's a PITA.

I also need to say, I've been lurking and planning for months. This is the first question I've actually needed to post. You guys are a wealth of information. Thanks!

if the fare you purchased was also and Internet Only fare and now the rate has gone down, you should be able to get a refund. The only thing is you will need to call the customer relations # instead of the 800#. Just explain to them that you will not be able to fly again in the next year and as long as nothing else on your itinerary changes (flight #, day, time etc) they should be able to issue a refund. They may ask you to call again after your flights are completed and then issue the refund at that time. It's worth a shot to save $80 IMO.

I'm doing it for a $30 savings! As long as the trip is the same time, date, flight etc. there won't be a problem. Cancel your trip, rebook the cheaper one, apply the funds from the original. When you rebook, you will see the box that says to 'apply funds'. The difference will be credited back to you after your trip. You just need to keep a copy of BOTH reservations and mail them to the refund department for a credit to your card. (or a credit towards a flight within a year). Go to the SWA home page and click on Travel Tools. Then click Request a Refund. :wave2:

you don't even need to cancel and then rebook...if you go to Travel Tools, you can click on "Change Air Reservation" and it walks you through the change. Much easier! The only time you would need to cancel and then rebook is if you were changing to a Ding Fare.

That does make it even easier! In my case though, I did change from an Internet Special fare to a Ding fare. I love to save $$!!:wave2:
