OK I am booking my trip tonight through sw and I have no idea if this is right or not.... if I purchase tickets with a fun fare am I guarenteed a seat?

I'm not sure what you're asking

Fun fare is not a standby fare, you'll have a confirmed reservation.

SW doesn't offer advanced seat assignments to any passengers regardless of fare class.

You're not guaranteed a specific seat in advance. Within 24 hours of your flight you get a BP, by checking in, either online or at the airport. Your BP will have an A, B or C. After the pre-boards passengers board based on the letter on their BP and get to select any available seat.

Almost all airlines overbook. The airline will first look for volunteers but SW has a very low number of passengers involuntarily bumped.

You are never guaranteed a seat on any airline, even with a seat assignment (I know, not possible on SWA) and ticket in hand.
