Can I buy DVC points for any Disney resort or only the different villas? For example, can I rent points for the Grand Floridian?

I'm not quite sure what you are asking but....

DVC is a Disney timeshare program where you purchase a very small portion of on the of DVC properties. Currently the DVC properties are: Vero Beach, Hilton Head Island, Old Key West, Bordwalk Villas, Wilderness Lodge Villas, and Beach Club Villas. The are working on a new one Saratoga Springs Resort. Owners in DVC have purchased a certian number of points (that correlates to the size of their purchase) that they may use at any of the DVC resorts or exchange to use at a number of other Disney Resorts and other places around the world thru exchange programs. DVC members also may "rent" the points to other people, family members, etc.

So if you are asking if you can buy into DVC at Grand Floridian, the answer is no, it is not a DVC resort. If you are looking to rent points from a member to use at Grand Floridian, then yes you can rent the points to use for a stay at the Grand Floridian.

Hope this answers your question! :D

Thanks for the info.
One more question,
why would it be a lot more points to stay at the CBR compared to the BCV studio?
When I put in the resorts, the points were varied. I was just seeing what points came up.
I am thinking about renting points for the BCV if I can at a good rate.

DVC owners own points at the DVC resorts. As a convenience to owners, DVC has struck a deal with Disney to allow owners to use those points at select non-DVC resorts on property. That deal is renegotiated every so often and points do raise, which can not happen at a DVC resort. Basically we are trading a DVC reservation for a Disney reservation, which carries a certain value for both - Disney then has one more DVC accomodation they can rent to a non-owner.

As this is technically a trade-out it is not the most economical use of points. The best use is always at DVC resorts, which imho are nicer than most of the other on-property resorts anyway.
