Another question on new SSR incentive. . .and CM discount?

If (there's a big If here, but I love to flirt with the idea of an add-on!):

we buy 120 SSR add-on, it would cost $9996 with the current incentive. We have an Oct UY. Would we get 120 Oct 2005 points? And if so, we could bank them into 2006, when we'd get another 120 in Oct, right? Am I missing anything here? What sort of maintenence fees do you pay--they start in 2005, I assume?

Also, does anyone know what discount DVC gives to Cast Member Family Members??

Yes, with an October UY, you would get the 2005 points and they can be banked into 06.

The 05 maintenance fees would be prorated based on date of purchase= today you'd owe about 10 weeks of fees (around $0.79 per point- I think) for this year.

The CM discount is 15%.

Very interesting...I also have Oct UY....so if I got the 120 point SSR addon I would get 120 points with dues for 2005 of about $95? This is on top of the discount already being offered that brings the cost of the points down to about 84 a point?

The new 15% discount isn't in addition to the $8 incentive, it is in place of. But you are right, with the 15% incentive, the per point cost comes out to $83.30 per point.

I bought into SSR a few months back, and my use year started in August 2005. Those points are good from 8/1/05 to 7/31/06, correct? Now if i add 120 points on right now with the new deal, what year would i get the points for? Now or wait until 8/1/06?

If you bought 120 more points, you'd get another 120 points for the '05 use year (they would expire 7/31/06). However, you could bank those points to use in the 8/1/06 to 07/31/07 year.
