I will be in Anaheim for a business trip on Oct. 1st-6th. I'm staying at the Disneyland hotel and have a free day on Oct. 2nd. I see that night is one of the nights for the Trick or Treat Party. I go to WDW at least once every year, but this will be my 1st trip to DL. Would I be better off spending the entire day at DL (hours are 9am-midnight that day) or spending the daytime at DL and going to the TOTP that night at DCA? I've been the Not So Scary at WDW and it was cool because of the special parade and fireworks, but mostly because of the lighter crowds.

I looked at the attractions at DCA vs. DL and alot of what I'd want to do at DCA are similar attractions they have at WDW. I'm leaning towards just spending the day at DL and saving the money from buying a ticket to TOTP, but I wanted to get some feedback from people who had been and knew much more about it than I did. I guess a 3rd option would be to get a 1 Day Hopper and hit DCA earlier in the day (only the few attractions I really want to do) and then spend the rest of the day at DL.

I'd get a one day hopper & and do the following:

- At DL security at 7:20am (first in line at the turnstile at 7:30)
- DL for from 8am - 10:30 - 11:30am (whenever it starts getting crowded)
- Tour with a plan & collect 4-5 FPs for use in the evening.
- Hop to DCA & tour with a plan for 3-4 hours (utilizing FP logically & single rider logically).
- Take a rest for an hour or two.
- Back to DL in the late afternoon or early evening (with the 5 FPs in your pocket)....note - Friday evenings can be crowded....but you'll have FPs.

You should review HydroGuy's DLR for WDW Veterans thread & all of his FP threads:

.....also my "One day at DLR" link (found in my signature below) might be helpful.

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

:)

unfortunately, I won't be able to get to the parks until about 9am. I do have a quick function to attend at 8am that I should be done with by 8:30am. I may still hit DL first thing in the morning and rack up on FP's and then jump over to DCA for a few rides. I will check for which rides have single rider lines and maximize those. I will also check some of the planning sites. I'm an avid planner when it comes to WDW, so I will do the same for DL.
