Another question about MYW Dining Plan??

We are just in the planning or stage for summer 2006 right now. I had ruled out the dining plan because we will be staying in our camper and eating some of our meals there so I didn't think it would be worth it. We like to do several character meals and I just realized my DS will be 3 and I'll have to start paying for him and DD6. Now I'm recalculating.

Can someone tell me when the meals expire?? Is it at the end of the package or is 14 days like the passes?? We were thinking about booking a 7 day package then adding a few more nights on as room only. It would be great if the meals could be stretched across both ressies. Thanks for your help.

Your meals expire at midnight on the day of check out. Are you staying in your camper at the Disney campground? I don't know if you can add the meal plan to that reservation or not.

My understanding is that you have to book a package in order to qualify for the dining piece..I don't believe you can get the dining portion without a package..hope that helps

You are able to book a MYW package + dining (including MYW tickets) while staying at the Fort Wilderness Campground. Your dining would expire at midnight on your check-out date, so after that you could still enjoy the parks and eat any remaining meals/snacks until midnight that night. Dining is for the number of nights on the package, so if you book 7 nights, you get 7 table service, 7 counter service and 7 snacks per person (over age 3).

You could add on extra nights as a separate reservation, but you can't get dining with "room only" - just packages.

Hope this helps!

You can't get the dining with room only, but you don't have to have tickets that equal the # of nights for a package anymore.

Example: You can have 6 night/7 day package with only 3 days of tickets, and still have the MYW dining plan. You'd still have to pay rack rate for the room more than likely, but I think this might work for what you wanted to do.

Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Thanks for the responses. I was hoping to book a 7 day package with 10 day base tickets so that I could use any extra days on a second 7 day room only ressie. Our kids will be DD6, DD3, and new baby 8 months so going into the parks every day would be too much for them. I was just hoping that I could use the meals from the package into the second week too. We would need them more in the second week when the camper food is gone.

The only way I can see to have Dining on the second seven day ressie would be to add one-day MYW tickets onto a package. I was going to tell you to switch the tickets and Dining onto the second ressie, but of course you'll need the tickets for the first week!

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! :guilty:

Any experiences to share with the MYW dining pkg? Trying to decide if it is worth adding to our pkg when we visit for 4 days in July for a family of 5. Are there any items excluded from the menus at the participating restaurants, counter service etc? ::MickeyMo
