Another question about AP rates

OK, shocked as I am, I was able to book the AP rate without the AP for January.

My question is, the CM I spoke with, took the deposit for 1 night, but informed me that the remaining balance could only be paid at the resort at the time of check in. He said I could not pay in advance with a credit card.

Does that sound right?

Yes. My best rate reservation was recently adjusted down a little and they even refunded the difference between the one night's deposit I originally paid and the cost of one night now. I'm not sure why you can't pay it off before arrival though. :confused3 Disney NOT wanting your money...that's a new one. :teeth:

That is what I was told about the BRP for AP holders. Someone said earlier that this was to avoid any overcharges should the rate change and actually be lower. :rotfl2: Like that is going to happen.

Hey! My rate did go down...really, LOL. :rotfl: It seems that some of the BRP reservations had their rates lowered...January 16 through February 3 or 4, something like that. So...it CAN happen! :wizard: I was just as surprised as anyone.

Well, I am happy someone has gotten a lower price. Must be a slow time in Jan and Feb, so they need to book some rooms.

There is a sticky thread at the top of the page about the fact that Disney will not accept advance payments on a room only booked via the BRP.

Hope that helps

This is bizarre - I made my reservation over the phone with a CM. However, my confimration number beings with an "R", and I am told those are ressies that are booked online :confused3 , and therefore cannot be paid in advance.

That really stinks.

I was told the same thing. I, like most others, would prefer to get that charge taken care of prior to leaving for Orlando, but oh well.

Yes Best Rate Reservation numbers start with an R and require a one night non refundable deposit. I am one who always pays my room off plus a little to avoid coming home with a bill after vacation. However, IMHO the BRP offers enough of a benefit that I will simply put the $ aside to pay the charges after the trip, (but before interest occurs).

I was hesitant at first as a long time AP holder used to the traditional discounts but, knock wood, so far BRP has saved me 40% of my October and February trips so I will abide by the rules. FWIW I am one who visits enough that the AP makes sense as admission and other perks are just a bonus for us. Based on my experience so far with the discount on DDE and BRP the AP is still a good deal for me. HTH

:teeth: Hi!
When the rates are lowered, does Disney send you verification through email?
I booked for the week prior to Christmas and am paying roughly $59 per night plus tax. Anybody booked at another rate for the value resorts?
Annie

I didn't get an email or any other notification of the lower rate. I just happened to check my reservation on the WDW site and noticed it. As far as I know it's only a very limited date range that received the rate change...January 16 through February 3 or 4, I think.
