I know many of you recommend Tokelau, is there a reason why Niue doesn't seem to be as popular. With 3 young kids we would like to be close to the GCH, TTC and pool and Niue seems the likely choice. Rarotonga also looks nice but I've waited since I was 17 years old (now 40ish) to stay at the Poly, I would be heartbroken if my garden view was of the parking lot. Can I request not to have a parking lot view?

I think the reason lots of people like Tokelau is because it has the best garden view rooms and the largest number of those rooms. You won't ever get a parking lot view. I think Tahiti has nice gardenview rooms too. I think that the second floor in nuie doesn't have balconies but I am not sure. The older Poly bldgs. have no balconies on the second floor. The resort really isn't that big so you are very close to everything. I don't think it is more than a five minute walk to GCH from any of the rooms. The longest walk is to the TT&C and you can ride the monorail there if you want. I don't have little children anymore so I may be out of touch with the walking issue.

We have always wanted a balcony and Nuie only had two floors and no balconies. The second floor rooms of Nuie have a large patio door with a railing across it. There is also no elevator in this building which might not be needed for only two floors. You can access the second floor of this building from Rarotonga via their elevator and then walking across a walkway that connects the two buildings. It is also a really small building. My guess is it has only about 25 rooms or so. Rarotonga and Nuie are just outside the door of the GCH which is a real plus. I would say it is only about 2 minutes farther to walk to Tokelau which really is a beautiful building. We loved our view of the quiet pool, castle (sideways), and even the MK fireworks from our third floor balcony room in Tokelau. I don't think you could go wrong in any building at the Poly. It is such a beautiful place. One tip-both times we went we were assigned to rooms that did not match with our room requests. (We even faxed our requests as well as gave them to CRO.) Be familiar with the longhouses and where you want and don't hesitate to speak up politely if the room doesn't match with your requests. If possible, they will do everything they can to accomodate them.
