Another plane crash in NY

The wind is pretty awful here in South Western CT, about an hour or so from NYC...I wonder if that played a role.

Hope there are survivors...

A continental flight... house is on fire... internet news just now picking it up. I am so sad. I am terrified to fly myself, but I do.

Oh God. I know that area around Buffalo, as I go there every summer for a convention. And the plane is out of Newark, which is right near me. I am watching the news now.

I am terrified to fly and haven't done it in 14 years. Prayers for all.

Prayers to those who are affected by this and it was Continental Flight 3407 from Newark to Buffalo, NY. 48 souls on board. 12 homes were evacuated. 2 people on the ground have been brought to the hospital.

Colgan Air was operating Bombideer Q400 plane for Continental Airlines. I missed how many seats on board.

Family is being gathered off site and are with Clergy.

So this is a horrible event regardless but our prayers are going out to everyone affected by this.

MSNBC is reporting that there were No Survivors. Prayers to the families who will be grieving the losses, to those who are fighting the fire and dealing with the aftermath.

"One of the crash victims, Beverly Eckert, was the widow of 9/11 terror attack victim Sean Rooney, a Buffalo native. Eckert was traveling to Buffalo for a weekend celebration of what would have been her husband's 58th birthday.

She also had planned to take part in presentation of a scholarship award at Canisius High School that she established in honor of her late husband, the newspaper reported.

Her sister, Sue Bourque, said that while the family had not yet received official confirmation of her sister's fate, the reality was settling in. "We know she was on that plane," Bourque told the newspaper, "and now she's with him."
