Another one bites the dust...Disney Store in Glen Allen, VA--

They're starting to "liquidate"... much to my chagrin, when we walked into the store yesterday there were signs all over the place indicating that everything must go b/c the store was closing.....

Now I'd have to travel 2 hours in either direction to get to a Disney Store... that really stinks, folks...

Oh, no. My girls love to rearrange the stuffed animals there and watch the movie previews on their big screen (what's left of it). I was hoping they'd revert back to being Disney-owned. That's a bummer. That mall's appeal is really waning. Were there any good deals?

Mine are closing also but I dont know the final date. I wonder if they are marking everything down real cheap or just sending it to the warehouse for online orders? It would be nice if they would do a 90% off!!

Our store in Hickory, NC is closing too. Saturday they were at 20-40% off. I would like to know what the discount schedule is. I hate they are closing the store. I know it isn't for lack of our shopping there. We went there a lot.

Not yet... you could have gotten better deals w/their big sales... right now things are between 20 and 40% off....

We figure we'll visit again this weekend to see what's left and to see if the discounts are any deeper...

I was shocked to see our store in Vancouver, WA is also closing...said they'd be gone by mid-June or so. We still have one in the area but it's about 30-40 minutes away, so I won't be going too often. Darn!

I am so sad about the one in Glen Allen. That's the only one for us, too. I wish it would stay open. First the one at CTC closed a few years ago, and now this one. Richmond won't even have one. What is the markdown? Maybe I will go and pay my respects.

The two around us are closing as well - Camp Hill and Harrisburg, PA - on June 30. Sales were 20-40% last week and this week. An employee friend gave me a discount card good yesterday only and I picked up quite a bit while the selection was good - swimsuits, jammies, shoes, resin figure sets, clothing, etc.. I'm sad to see them go, but the stores had gone downhill under Children's Place as it was. I've become accustomed to shopping the online store, especially with all the Disney Visa discount codes. I will miss my visual "Disney fix" though.

The one in the Fairfield Mall in Beavercreek Ohio is also on that list.

I had gone over there last weekend to check out the $5.00 tshirts that some Dis'ers had posted about. They have signs up everywhere.....

It totally sucks....this one is about 22 miles...the next one is 100 miles that closest to us.

I just don't get it...do they just not want to sell Disney items???

The store @ Chesapeake Square Mall in Portsmouth, VA is closing, too. Only one left in this area is in Virginia Beach @ Lynnhaven Mall. What a shame, as this was our least favorite store........

Well you won't be able to come to the one up I-95 in Fredericksburg, VA either. They are closing as well. I did hear that they are re-vampn some stores with a total different layout concept, but I don't know which stores they are. I asked, but the salesperson didn't know.

I heard they were keeping the one in Potomac Mills Mall as well. I neve thought that one was anywhere near as nice as the regular stores. It was more of an outlet type store. Well, it's not too far for me so if I feel the need for Disney store fix I could always go.

I live in a busy Philly area suburb that has 4 Disney stores at malls everywhere from 5 - 25 miles away. 2 of them are closing. The Willow Grive, PA store gave me a Disney guest service number to contact to voice my displeasure. I mentioned that it always seemed busy and they said sales were not an issue! Here is the number so you can start dialing: 1-866-902-2798. They said it would be a voicemail and to leave a message.

Potomac Mills will remain an outlet location and will be the closest to Richmond (still an hour and a half away) The closest store location (non-outlet) will be Lynhaven in VA Beach or Tysons in Northern VA.
They are closing both the VA Center and the Spotsylvania locations.
They are also not opening the Williamsburg outlet location that was supposed to have its grand opening in April

Not much left in VA. It makes me very sad (especially since I worked at that location for five years.)
