You guys are so helpful! :goodvibes Now I was wondering about batteries. I bought the Nimh batteries and charger and haven't opened them yet. (I just got my camera on Sat.) Right now I'm just running on the regular AA batteries that came with it. I was wondering for how much I use my camera (special occasions and vacations usually), maybe I don't need the rechargeable batteries. (The guy at the camera shop said if your camera sits for a while not used they would lose their charge.) He also mentioned lithium batteries that would last longer than the regular AA's. Any advice for me? :confused3 Thanks Again!

I would keep the Nimh and charger. They will last a lot longer then regular aa and lithium. Plus when they drain you wont need to keep buying new ones just recharge

Energizer e2 Lithium will last about the same as 2700mAh NiMH batteries provided they are being charged and used at once. If you charge and keep them in the box for say 2 weeks, the lithium will last longer in storage whereas NiMH will start losing it's charge from day one. (then again again you can always recharge them.

Digital cameras eat alkalines like there's no tomorrow. I've had digital point-n-shoots that'll go through regular alkalines in about 25 pictures.

Get a couple good sets of 2500mAh (milli-amp hour) NiMH and a charger (preferably a 1-hour charger). They'll last quite long in the camera and pay for themselves vs. disposable lithiums in only a couple uses. The NiMH's normally hold a "sufficient" charge for a couple weeks in your closet. If you're concerned about needing the a hurry (like if a UFO lands in your backyard), keep some long shelf life alkalines around the house.
