Hello! I have never been to disney and I just joined the boards. We're planning a trip at the end of May 2010. My kids will be 6 and 4 at the time. We're going with the hubby's family but all making our own reservations and plan, will meet up when there.

I don't know where to start! I am so overwhelmed. I do know I want to stay in the park and I want to take my 4 y/o DD to something princessy - I read about some places to eat where they are around.

Anyway, Good to meet you!

There are great planning resources over on the Theme Park attractions and Strategies board here on the Dis. These are threads (subjects) dedicated to how to plan your Disney trip Excel spread sheets and everything. Don't be intimidated, just plan one part of your trip at a time and it will all unfold. :welcome: to Disboards. :cool1:

To get you started, get the Disneyworld planning video, it's free. Then pick the season you want to go, value, regular and peak seasons, room rates vary, then pick you resort, maybe based on where you'll spend the most time park wise, or pocketbook size and then pick how long you're going to stay.

That's a good starter and those choices are really yours, basically it's how deep your pocket book is. Any resort on property is wonderful but you have to chose between, value, moderate and deluxe resorts and they are specific to park areas. Good luck, don't get over whelmed, good book we've used over and over is Birbaums and feel free to ask questions, you'll get many replies to pick from.

Welcome!! There are so many planning sites to help you. Get yourself a good guide. Passporter is wonderful among others. Check out the Disney's Mom's Panel. I sometimes go there when I can't find the answers somewhere else. They are great.

hello and welcome! i have 5 year old twins so something princessy( depending on yur budget or course) would be maybe to do a meal at the castle or have her hair done in the boutique, also in the castle. theres also a princess character meal in epcot at morocco i think in Arkeshus? ( not sure about spelling) my girls loved the crysta lpalace in Mk, thats with winnie and his pals. another great one for all of you would be the garden grill in epcot. they serve u family style and the restaurant rotates. the girls loves it and of course mickey came around. try not to do too much. just soak it in and live in the moment:goodvibes

Hi! These boards are a wealth of knowledge. Look under any forum that you think will be relevant to your vaction and read all the posts you can!! You will learn soooo much and theres always someone to answer your questions!

The Epcot princess meal is at Akershus in the Norway Pavilion. We have always enjoyed that one. Cinderella's Royal Table at the Castle is good, but it is very expensive and it's 2 Table Service Credits on the Disney Dining Plan. 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian Resort is also very good. It's a Buffet and Cinderella and Prince Charming are there along with the Wicked Step-Mother and the Ugly Step-Sisters.

As for resorts, as the previous poster said, there is something for every budget. My favorite Value Resort is All-Star Movies, favorite Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside and favorite Deluxe Resort is the Polynesian Resort. We generally stick to the value resorts now that we have kids. They love the theming and really we just aren't ever in the room. We just pretty much sleep and shower there. I also highly recommend doing the Basic Dining Plan. I mean there's no way I could feed my kids on $10.00 per day at Disney without the plan.

Whatever you decide, hope ya'll have a magical vacation!
