Can you attach a credit card to a magic band for purchases (dining and shops) if you're not staying at Disney owned hotel? We are staying at shades of green. Would love not to have to take credit card to parks. Trying to go without a bag. thank you!!

I don't think that's possible. We weren't able to on our last trip when we stayed off site.

You need to be staying at a Disney owned & operated resort in order to pay with your MagicBand as it's actually charging the purchase back to your room account.

If you have a phone, you could get one of those little sticky silicone card holders to hold it.

Even before phones, lots of times I have gone to the parks with only the contents of my pockets. though to be honest, these days, we usually bring water. We have a wat bottle clip strap, but it kind of bangs around. On our most recent trip, we ended up using bags.

These days, the difference between bags and non-bags is fairly minimal, if you are opting out because of the concern over the bag check lines. Most non-bag folks get send through the metal detectors, so it pretty nearly evens out.

Except at Universal. All day at Universal, no-bag is much faster than using the lockers, though park entry is about the same for everyone.

Agree with the above post. You must be staying onsite to charge with the MB as its charging back to the room account, not actuaally the band.

As already said, only for on-site guests. But if you are doing quick service you can pay with your CC on your account when/if you mobile oder.

Honestly, even for on-site guests I believe I've heard there can sometimes be issues with the system--I would always bring some kind of backup payment method.

When I travel, I move just a few essential cards into a smaller wallet, so it doesn't take up much more space in my pocket than a few loose credit cards stacked together. I use a comic book wallet made by an etsy seller under the name DuctTuff; it's held up better than I expected it would.

Hi,
New to Magic Bands.🤔 do you wear yours on the plane or wait until you arrive on property. TIA....plane leaves in 10 hrs.:dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

I've seen lots of people wearing them on the plane to MCO! They probably don't want to misplace them before DME, plus it's great to wear them in preparation for the trip.
I don't normally like wearing even my fitbit so I'll only put mine on when I absolutely have to.
