Another last minute question re: Fastpass.

Right now it's 10:20 am Pacific time where I live and I looked up Fastpass availability on the "m.disneyland.go" program posted here by another user. This program lets you look up wait times and FP availability. Well it is saying that DCA's Soarin' is already out of FPs and about half of DL attractions with FP are already gone too!
Is this normal for FPs to run out by 10:30? Or is this not a reliable program? I know it's Saturday and all but it seems crazy that over half the FPs for the whole park being out by 10:30 am. Knowledge from the experts needed please.

Great question. I've been during some busy times (mid-to-late June 2009 around the blockouts) and Space Mountain FPs were gone probably sometime before noon. Maybe Splash Mountain too, but generally those are available longer (as no one wants to pick up a FP for 10 PM!). 10:30 sure seems awfully excessive for all those rides, considering that a lot of people who come in don't even know how FP works. I wonder if it's possible that some of the rides are down; if Indy goes down (as it does probably an average of at least once a day), it won't be distributing FPs until it's running again. I'd check the program again in 30 minutes.

I'm not so sure about Soarin'; we always just get a FP when we walk in and we're fine. If DCA opens at 10 (I didn't look at the times today) they probably don't start distributing the Soarin' FPs until 9:30, though, and if that's the case, they should really have plenty available at 10:30. The only thing I could think of is that IF they opened Soarin's FPs early (for people who were getting WoC FPs earlier than 10) then MAYBE? Still sounds unikely to me.

Or does it say that rides like Big Thunder Mountain are "out" of FPs? During less busy times sometimes they don't offer FPs (though this is summer so they should).


Anyway, that doesn't sound quite right to me and if it IS true, then we can throw everything we know about AP blockouts out the window.

Maybe soaring was down and not running at that time?? I know that if the ride is not operating, they do not allow you to get a fastpass until the ride is back up.

Well... if you trust the iphone app, DL Wait Times, there was over a 2 hour wait on Soarin' Over California at 1pm. So it MAY be that the FPs are indeed out. TSMM is currently showing a 90 minute wait (as of 2:40pm).

If you believe the app, seems DCA is busy busy today.

ETA: 3:17pm I just called DLR and asked. There are FPs being given out for Soarin' over CA right now with a return time around 5pm.

We go in August and have seen the FP's go quickly at the most popular rides along with horrendous wait times. We will see how things go this year.

ETA: 3:17pm I just called DLR and asked. There are FPs being given out for Soarin' over CA right now with a return time around 5pm.

I was curious also and found http://m.disneyland.go.com. If it is disney.go, I believe that means it is run by Disney. I think, though, when it says "not available", it either means the ride is down or not doing fastpasses - I saw it for HM and TOT.

Thanks for the input. I noticed that it had HM and TOT "unavailable" bit it also has Soarin' and most FPs at DL out too. It's hard to believe that Soarin' was out at 10:20 am even on a super busy day.

Yes I did and thank you for your insight. I didn't mean that Soarin' "was" out, I meant that the disney.go program ( it's not an app) said Soarin' was out of FPs. It surprised me to see that at 10:20 am that is why I came here for some wisdom.
