"Another Last Min Pre-Trip Report"

Howdy.Right now it is 1:33am on Halloween, October 31st...it means 2 things. 1.) October is already over and 2.) there is only 15 more days until our 2015 Mother/Daughter Disney World Trip...which will be our 13th trip.

I decided to do this last min Pre-Trip Report in hopes to gain some excitement for the trip. Our dates are: Nov 15-20th and we are staying at our Disney Home: "Pop Century."

Coincidentally I know two people who are going to Florida the week before we go...my cousin and her family and a pen pal from NY who are going to Florida the week before. My cousin gets home on the 14th of November, the day before my mom and I leave. hehehe.

Our Disney History: We have been going to Disney World yearly since 2005 when we went for my high school graduation. We stayed in a total of 3 Disney World Resorts since then: Caribbean Beach Resort, All Star Music, and Pop Century. My Dream hotel for some reason is the Contemporary I guess because it's close to Magic Kingdom and has the monorail go right through the main concourse building. Since our 3rd trip to Disney in 2007 we fell in love with Pop Century and have been calling that home since then....

Who are we?
We are a mother/daughter duo who love Disney. Unfortunately I haven't yet pulled my dad into the Disney life since he doesn't like long lines/crowds or Florida weather...which is basically your definition of Disney...right?

First there's me...

My name is Megan.

I am 29 years old and a Disney fanatic.. lol. My favorite park(s) are Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. My favorite rides are Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror. When it comes to movies and characters my favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast and my favorite characters are Figment and Stitch.

Then there's my mom:

Her favorite park is Magic Kingdom, favorite ride/character/movie is Peter Pan because she never wanted to grow up...just like Peter. Her first Disney World visit was in 1979/1980 when she and my dad went for their honeymoon.

Two thrills of going to Disney World and being on the dining plan is the progress of making Advance Dining Reservations aka ADRs and also eventually eating at the restaurants that you have chosen for your vacation party. (At least I enjoy making reservations...lol. It's part of the whole Disney experience in my book)

Every year we try to eat at a new restaurant. This year, so far, it will be the Cape May Cafe but I'm thinking of changing it because my mom is not a huge sea food person.

Captain's Grille - This was our new restaurant last year. I enjoyed the crab cakes and the chocolate cake for dessert.

Planet Hollywood - I know it's a plain restaurant compared to some other restaurants but I really like the food here. Also being a film lover I love the atmosphere.

Via Napoli - Italian food is good. I mostly love this restaurant for the zappoli dessert..yummy. lol.

Cape May Cafe - Sea food buffet. Being from New Jersey I thought why not go to Cape May...in Florida that is. But now I think I might rethink my choice because my mom isn't a big seafood lover.

Raglan Road - LOVE the bread pudding dessert...it is ALOT but we normally bring it back to the room for breakfast which saves us a Quick service so that we both have our own lunch.

On arrival day we usually get to the resort around 11:30am, get to our room around 12pm and get out the door again for the parks by 12:30pm. We normally just pick a snack option for lunch because dinner is at 5pm and we aren't really hungry after our plane ride.

ADR Changes

I decided to change 2 of my ADR's. I realized I picked Via Napoli only for the Zapolli dessert but I really don't care for much of the entree's so I decided to switch it to The Grand Floridian Cafe which will be our new restaurant this trip. I am thinking I'll order the Surf and Turf Burger or the Orchetta Pasta...probably the Burger lol. Yummy.

For the second change. I first changed Cape May Cafe to the Rose and Crown over in Epcot for dinner. I checked the menu and there was not a whole lot I liked...even in the dessert menu nothing popped out at me. Soo, I decided why not look for something for lunch instead of dinner and found "50's Prime Time Cafe" which isn't new to us exactly...We've been there before, for dinner, but never for lunch. I checked the menu and Dad's Stuffed Pork Chop Popped out at me. hehehe.

I'm totally looking forward to these two restaurants now. Yey.

Daily Plans -- Fast Passes

So, only less than 10 days away from our 2015 Disney Vacation and I can't wait...or can I? lol.

Nov 15, 2015 - Day 1

We are flying from South NJ (Trenton/Mercer Area) on the 15th, early morning and getting in MCO around 10:25am! After we get onto a magical express bus and sign into our hotel (Pop Century), our first park of the vacation will be the Magic Kingdom.

Usually we go to the Studios the first day, unintentionally though. lol. I guess it's because it's my favorite park, but because there's EMH at Studios at night.

My fast passes include:

Space Mt - 11:45am-12:45pm
Splash MT - 1:45pm-2:45pm
Big Thunder Mountain - 2:45pm-3:45pm

First ADR is Captain Grille around 5pm. Then if we are up for it, park hopping to Studios.

Day 2 Plans ---

Our first full day of our Disney Trips usually consist of breakfast at the Pop Century cafeteria which usually is the breakfast platter or the french toast. Depending on our location of our hotel room sometimes I like to bring the breakfast back to the room in case my mom decides to take her time getting ready.

I am an avid pin trader so I'm usually found pin trading when we head out through the gift shop with the cast members in the morning (and at night as well). Sometimes I find something, and sometimes not. All depends if something catches my eye.

Our park for the second day is Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom is our least favorite park due to the amount of walking we do at this park...not that I am complaining as I walk every day morning and night but I find the lack of major ride attractions a little disappointing. I am not so happy about the upcoming Avatar Land because I wasn't a fan of the movie (never seen it) but also I am not a fan of a non-Disney attraction. In my opinion in 10 years, Disney World will just become another Universal Studios which in my opinion is just another "amusement park."

Our Fast passes consist of:

Dinosaur - 11am-12pm... This is one of my mom's favorite rides at this park. I am not a fan.
Everest - 12:30pm-1:30pm... One of my favorites.
Safari - 2:20pm-3:20pm - another favorite.

We will end our day with dinner at Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs...aka Downtown Disney.

Day 3 AND 4

Sorry for lack of update, but w/ less than 48 hours until I leave for...DISNEY, I decided to do 2 days in 1 update! Yey me! As I write this post I am wearing Mickey ears!! ( I am also waiting for Blue Bloods to start at 10pm, ).

Day 3 - Tuesday Nov 17, 2015

It's our first Epcot day!! Epcot..where Everybody's Pocket Comes Out Thinner. I think that's what it stands for... LOL.

My fast passes include:

Spaceship Earth at 12pm-1pm
Soaring - 2:15-3:15
Nemo - 3:40

I really don't understand fast passes for small rides like Nemo or Figment..
they really don't have a line (most of the time).

Dinner for Tuesday is at the Grand Floridian Cafe which is our new restaurant this trip.

Day 4 - Hollywood Studios (Again)

Yes!! Studios...again. I love Tower of Terror and the atmosphere, but probably going to be a little sad because they got rid of the hat. The hat made the park look fuller. hehehehe.

My fast passes include:
Tower of Terror (Of course) - 11:50am-12:50pm
Toy Story Mania - 2:50pm-3:50pm
Star Tours - 5:50pm - 6:50pm

I might have to miss Toy Story because our table service is at lunch at 1:55pm but I'm not cancelling in case we are done by 3:50pm. lol. Sometimes we are unlucky and have a really bad server who takes 1-2 hours to serve us!! Blah.

Our Table Service is at 50's Prime Time Cafe. We have eaten there before but a while back, so we're going there again!!! (Looking forward to the stuffed porkchop)
