Another hotel question

I know everyone keeps asking about this and I have read a bunch of threads but still can't decide which hotel to book for a four night stay over Labour Day. We will be there at the end of an extended trip to California and will visit DLR on at least two days (maybe also on the third if we really feel it is necessary, else we will do something else).

I think I have narrowed it down to either the Howard Johnson or Park Vue. Price seems to be roughly the same during the stay. I realize Park Vue is closer which is nice but probably not crucial (kids will be 10 and 7 and are used to walking). I really like the idea of the free breakfast and dinner though. I am not a big breakfast eater but the boys will need something before we get going and I think the dinner could be very useful. On the other hand I really would like to have a nice pool/water park which is why I think the Hojo might be best...:confused3

I guess I am looking for some advice regarding the relative merits of each:

At what time is the dinner available at the Park Vue? Is it fairly tasty/filling?

How about the Hojo water park? Would it still be fun for a 10 and 7 year old? Is the pool at Park Vue at least decent?

Are there any other considerations that would help (size/quality of rooms, view, etc.)???

I am just lost here and really can't make up my mind.
